NATO has asked the United States to continue participating in airstrikes over Libya through late Monday, ABC News has learned.
This was done to make up for the bad weather earlier in the week that had hampered targeting of Gadhafi forces and allowed them to push the rebels back to Ajdabiyah.
The United States was supposed to have significantly begun dropping its participation in airstrikes over Libya.
"Due to poor weather conditions over the last few days in Libya, the United States has approved a request by NATO to extend the use of some U.S. strike aircraft," NATO spokeswoman Oana Lungescu told ABC News. "These aircraft will continue to conduct and support Alliance air-to-ground missions throughout this weekend."
A U.S. Defense Department official said the aircraft Lungescu was referring to are the A-10 Thunderbolt jets, Marine AV-8 Harrier jets and AC-130 gunships, which are the best suited for striking ground force targets.

What happened to Obama’s pleadge to limit the air attacks to “days not weeks”? Fact is he is going to do whatever he wants because Congress is a joke. No wonder public opinion polls show Congress is such low esteem.

Obama is going to break us, just like Reagan broke the Soviet Union. Seriously, this was probably an inspiring idea and ‘proof of concept” to Obama. Clearly he is trying to spend us into oblivion in an effort to dismantle this once great country that he has so much disdain for.

Kinetic Military Action accomplished!
1) If Obama does not need to prove his eligibility (and he refuses to NOT because he's hiding anything... he's doing it to prove that the US Constitution means NOTHING. That's why he ignores what the “Birthers” (AKA constitutionalists)have demanded.
It's a slippery slope because since he snubbed the Constitution...
2) The President crammed Obamacare down oue throats.
3) The President took his complaint against Arizona to the United Nations.
4) The President believes the UN trumps our Congress and the US Constitution.
QUESTION: How many illegals will Arizona have to gather up, jail or deport before we see French, Chinese and Russian jets flying over the State Of Arizona under the UN flag?
WOW! That was EXACTLY what was going through my mind when I posted "Bomb until we're Bankrupt".
The scary part is, it's probably not just a coincidence we were thing the same thing probably at the very same moment.
It isn't that Congress is a joke but rather paralyzed due to the GOP controlling the House while the jackasses control the Senate.
Ask Ron Paul if he thinks we should strike Libia.
