LONDON (Reuters) New diets for cows and sheep could reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, research funded by the Department for environment, food and rural affairs (Defra) shows.
Feeding the animals maize silage, naked oats and higher sugar grasses could reduce the amount of methane they produce, the study by Reading University and the Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences showed.
Agriculture accounts for around nine per cent of all British greenhouse gas emissions. Most of this comes from sheep, cows and goats.
Farming accounts for 41 per cent of Britain's overall methane emissions, which are harmful to the environment.
A trial showed that high-sugar grasses could reduce an animal's methane emissions by 20 per cent for every kg of weight gain and naked oats could reduce methane emissions from sheep by 33 percent.

Libtards holding their breath WOULD cut emissions.
If we’re ever going to “save” the greenhouse, we need to develop one of these types of diets for Democ’RAT politicians.

Next they will have training crews dispatched to train Termites to change their dietary behavior as well

Hey, how about just putting a big balloon on their rear ends and collecting the methane to use to generate electricity? You could have some cows in your back yard and use them to power your Volt.
What are we going to feed them when some other snake oil salesman convinces those intellect challenged masses that we need MORE cow and sheep flatulence to save the planet?
LOL! Now THAT made me laugh!
I don't know what naked oats are, but they sound damned sexy!
“New diets for cows and sheep could reduce their greenhouse gas emissions”
“And it will only cost you twice as much, comrades! Thank Obozo!”
This could be something that Mrs. Barack Hussein Obama Jr could dedicate her life to......and leave every body elses diet alone.
Next it will be our greasy foods and beer...
I often wonder, when I am cutting my grass, how hard would it be to convert the grass clippings to methane, collect the methane and use it to power the mower? I think if you held enough grass clippings in a tank, kept it warm and wet, and introduced some of the bugs that live in a cow's gut you could make a lot of methane over a week's time. It could be pumped into a couple of small tanks and by week's end you might have enough methane to power your mower for a few hours. Basically the machinery would do the same thing as a cow but you could get around zoning ordinances that prohibit livestock.
And on Mikey Moore’s ass too.
As well as each human emits 3 to 3.3 liters of gas a day. Do the math. There are nearly 7 billion on the face of the earth right now. Maybe these libtards should change their diets.
Oh, sure, the Brits would know. They brought us BSE (Mad Cow Disease) by feeding other animals to animals. Their recommended diet is too legume-heavy, BTW.
LOL.
