For most people a $30,000 car is out of reach, while others dont think twice about spending three or four times more on a ride. But even those enthusiasts may not be interested in signing the checks when faced with the price tag that the glamorous Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 Super Sport comes with. This is the most expensive car in the world as of 2011, and is obviously bought by people who dont flicker an eyelid in any economy.
Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport
So many super cars come and go, all claiming to be the fastest. But even five years after the original version came out; Bugatti Veyron remains the most powerful and the fastest car in the world today, and not just the most expensive car. It defines luxury and of course a fat bank account. I can only imagine, but Im sure nothing can beat the pleasure of cruising around in the legendary 1,200 horsepower Super Car, the Bugatti Veyron.

135 in a 72 Catalina. It took the whole road and about 5 minutes to get there.

Great minds think alike.
I heard the peckerwood tow truck driver did more damage than the crash.

We use to “peg” (the needle stopping post on the speedometer) a friends ‘63 vet. The peg was about 5-7 mph beyond the 160 mark. You’re right that on the how did we live part? Run over a snake, turtle, skunk, armadillo, anything and we would have been bye-bye.
We actually did run out of gas 2.5 miles out of town and coasted into the station.
Ah, to be ignorant and not have the “What could happen if I did this?” perspective.

At 250 MPH you have 21 minutes of fuel.

I have gone 190 in a Countach. I would do it again in a minute.

Ha.
Waaaaaaay back in the day, our local mayor happened to be out of town on business, and he had the poor judgment to leave Junior in charge of the royal estate. My buddy lived two doors down, knew the family, and borrowed the keys to Mayor McJingle-Pocket's Mercedes one evening. Near the end of the hillbilly rocket ride, we took this fine piece of German engineering down a long, steep mountain freeway off-ramp, pegged at 105. And there was a 90 degree bender just before the stop sign, which we arrived at on two wheels. The Wranglers I was wearing that night had to be disposed of as hazardous material, as they were too toxic to be cleaned in a standard washing machine.
I was such a bad boy in my youth sometimes. And I'm not sure the statute of limitations has run out on some of it.
"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

Im my younger days i hit 149 in my Supra turbo a few times. Hell, in my younger days I went 130 mph in the family "boat", a 1974 or 75 Olds Delta 88 with a 455 in it.
I too, was a young idiot for pulling that one.

It was a 1987 1/2 Supra turbo 5-speed.
It felt like one small twitch of the wheel would of sent me and the car flipping around 20 times down the highway.
The car had 232 HP which seemed like a lot at the time, Nowadays Honda Civics probaly have more HP.
Doesn’t really matter to me because at the moment i couldnt even afford a new civic.
The Supra was a beautiful car, very nice.
sold it at 300,000 miles and the engine still purred like the day i bought it.
