HEADLINE SIREN ONLY!
Huge mistake by Beck.
The white Oprah?
Did he say something controversial???? If so, what was it?
Mr. Ailes said in the statement, Glenn Beck is a powerful communicator, a creative entrepreneur and a true success by anybodys standards. I look forward to continuing to work with him.
The far left will be celebrating...till they learn he has been replaced by Sarah Palin. ;)
Maybe that Trump is not credible....?
Were I of the liberal/progressive persuasion, I would not be particularly enthusiastic about this expected departure. Beck is an outstanding communicator and very creative, two attributes that could cause a much bigger media problem for the left when Beck is operating outside the parameters of his current employee-employer relationship with Fox.
Drudge has a link now to NY Slimes:
Glenn Beck to End Daily Fox News Program
In the statement on Wednesday, Mr. Beck said he would be starting a new phase of a partnership with Roger Ailes, the chairman of Fox News. I truly believe that America owes a lot to Roger Ailes and Fox News, he said.
They will put in Karl Rove....
Very good point.
I wonder how long it will be before Glenn starts slinging mud at his old job?
Not to say that Fox News doesn’t deserve it’s fair share of criticism, but Beck strikes me as the sort of guy who would begin trashing Fox News.
Not surprised. Beck posts big viewership numbers but ad revenue was really hurt by the Left’s successful sponsor boycott campaign. This will certainly embolden the DUmmies.
OTOH, we are likely to get Judge Napolitano or Lou Dobbs as the replacement. I can live with that.
Alan Colmes, now that would make us shiver!
FNC isn’t going to renew his contract, I think they want someone who doesn’t offend Prince Walid or something.
He is developing Becks Gulch in the Wyoming mountains.
President Beck - 2012?
Colmes and Rove? Or how about Heraldo???
My wife can’t stand Mr. Beck.
‘New phase’??? What exactly does that mean?
(new phase of a partnership with Roger Ailes, the chairman of Fox News.)
So they intend on creating a strictly conservative news org?
Let’s take bets. I’ll take 2 months.
Not much chance of exposing the Left with his replacement.
They will go moderate to BOR with the next one probably.
It means he’s about to go off the deep end and we hope that doesn’t happen before he leaves.
I’d like to see the Judge, but I would bet it will be Dobbs.
Gonna hit the Sheen circuit...sober kook, drunk kook...double billing
No way that Beck could keep up what he was doing at Fox. Most of his shows were him as the presenter for nearly the entire hour. He would use a few panels or experts, but mostly it was him. Anyone who’s ever had to communicate, even they do use a teleprompter, knows that the prep time to come off as real, engaged, and knowledgeable is big. Beck did it day after day after day. His ability absolutely amazed me.
O’Reilly, Hannity, and their like always have their time gimmicks. O’Reilly has his multitude of “segments” whether daily or weekly, and the talking head expert that goes with that segment. The same with Hannity. Their prep involves questioning and reacting.
Beck on the other hand was the presenter.
What he put on air was herculean in my opinion. I’d be totally burned out.
He has to be exhausted by his schedule and will need to take a break before the next election.
Pray for America
Rush pretty much said the same thing about when he did his television show.
Katie Couric is looking for work.
"Big numbers" as you put it translate into ad revenue. sponser's pay for audience and if it's there they pay and if it isn't they don't. It's that simple.
BTW, where do you get your info that FNC was "really hurt" by any boycott? Do you have a source and a link?
Let not your heart be troubled. I'm sure it will be great, Great, GREAT, GREAT, GREAT.
“My wife can’t stand Beck”
I can’t either anymore. I was a fan but now, his message is tiresome. It’s overload and hard to process all that he gives us. And if he suggests stocking food in the basement for the coming revolution one more time....!!!
His staff is excellent at preparing for his shows. And yes, the info is valuble and informative. But he is not reaching enough people who are intelligent enough to understand.
And I believe that he has become an opportunist and that money is his prime motive for what he does.
He wanted 75K and a private jet to be an invited speaker at a conference that I helped plan. Gimme a break!
Our local radio channel has cancelled his radio show for lack of listeners.
Beck needs to regroup and define his goals..do an ego check and a personal inventory while he’s at it.
But please don’t let his FNC replacement be Dana Perino, who can’t read a line from a teleprompter without a verbal stumble.
“No way that Beck could keep up what he was doing at Fox. Most of his shows were him as the presenter for nearly the entire hour. He would use a few panels or experts, but mostly it was him. “
Don’t forget the chalk board!
Lot of ‘Beck Hate’ up there in New England...sometimes coming here to FR is like reading the ‘Comments’ section in the Union Leader...
“New phase??? What exactly does that mean?”
I think that means the boss is giving him a “career change oppurtunity.” In other words, “pack your crap and get out!”
If only he had been not so mocking on the Birth Certificate issue. Instead he took the side of the bullies, mockers and scoffers.
You said it all.
I like Dana Perino, but only as someone who sits in when regulars are off.
Well, you know, fame is a funny thing. People react to it differently, but oftentimes some celebs think of themselves as bulletproof and invisible. That’s when the trouble starts. Then they fall from grace and wonder how it all happened.
Reminds me of “All The King’s Men” by Steinbeck. A superb book and cautionary tale on how fame and power can corrupt a person’s soul.
As much as this decision disappoints me, I agree with you. Beck’s got more stamina and focus than most college kids. I worried about his health and whether there was enough time in any given day to tend to his personal life after all he’s managed to put together for a wide audience. In the last several months, he has presented to his audience - just about all the material I have read on these subjects in 7 years. That’s quite an accomplishment. Now, its up to us to individually archive (on hard disc) each of his programs for future reference. I expect his stuff will be ‘disappeared’ if opponents have anything to say about it. I wish him well and much success with every endeavor he takes on.
Soros, communists, Socialists, Van Jones, media matters, establishment GOP, and bigots towards mormons are all happy now.
The only person on TV who has balls to watch the left and tell the real facts and use their own words and video’s
Now the left can do what they want and no one will report on them or even watch them, business as usual when Beck goes sadly
Some folks hated the Truth so much they had It crucified.
I think this is a good idea. Some of the documentary-style segments he has done, with him doing the narration, have been fantastic. I could see him doing a lot more of this style of education, with specials on Fox and online, yet diminishing his face time. He has been talking a lot more about his family and I’m sure he wants more time with his young boy.
I wasn’t one of those people.
Read the story, people. Beck is not “Out” at Fox News. He is ending his current program, and will be embarking on other projects with Fox.
