Hawaii official denounces 'ludicrous' birther claims

Comments follow statements by Donald Trump questioning legitimacy of president's birth record

The Hawaiian state health official who personally reviewed Barack Obama's original birth certificate has affirmed again that the document is "real" and denounced "conspiracy theorists" in the so-called "birther" movement for continuing to spread bogus claims about the issue.

"It’s kind of ludicrous at this point," Dr. Chiyome Fukino, the former director of Hawaii's Department of Health, said in a rare telephone interview with NBC.

Fukino, sounding both exasperated and amused, spoke to a reporter in the aftermath of Donald Trump's statements on the NBC Today show last week questioning whether Obama has a legitimate birth certificate.

Trump, who says he is considering a run for president, repeated his claims on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday, saying that "nobody has any information" about the president's birth and that "if he wasn't born in this country, he shouldn't be president of the United States."

It’s so ludicrous, in fact, that they’ve spent millions trying to make the whole issue go away. If it’s so ludicrous, produce the danged thang.

She NEVER said she personally saw it

Her statement was picture-perfect “Clintonesque” in its delicate parsing and appearance of stating the opposite of what you really mean.

She said SHE SENT A REPRESENTATIVE.

She never even said he saw it, only that she was confident in the results (or somethin smilar)

If you read her statement at the time and look for anything that says the long from birth certificate exists and was seenm you wil not find it

Even now sh is not saying I SAW IT she is saying SHE CANT BELIEVE THE ISSUE STILL EXISTS (not quite the same thing)

Why is Trump afraid to say the words "natural born Citizen"?

And so we are just supposed to forget that the sitting Governor of Hawaii, after searching for two weeks, concluded that a BC “probably does not exist.”

“It’s kind of ludicrous at this point,”

What is ludicrous, and insuting to the American people, is refusing to show the BC.

State of Hawaii public records officials are up to their necks in this thing.

If there isn't a long-form BC (which at this point seems likely), just what did they use to issue the electronically-generated birth “certification” document?

And if the only original records relate to Barry Soetero’s adoption, why wasn't the certification issued with that name, instead of BHO?

These people have a lot of ‘splaining to do. And almost as much at stake should the truth come out as Barry himself.

WE need to get the democrats on board (or at least the appearance of democraps hee hee hee) by getting them to mock the tea party by saying they are going to show the BC once and for all

Obambi wont know how to react to that, except to tell them to be quiet and then we have THAT on record...

Mainland media has also continued to focus attention on the birthers. CNN’s Lou Dobbs last week demanded Obama’s original birth certificate. That was followed by CNN/U.S. President Jon Klein telling staffers of “Lou Dobbs Tonight” that the issue is a “dead” story, according to a Los Angeles Times report.

In an e-mail, according to the Times, Klein wrote that CNN researchers had determined that Obama’s 1961 birth certificate no longer exists because Hawai’i officials had discarded paper documents in 2001 — a claim denied yesterday by Isle health officials.

HA. This MSNBC story is purely for the consumption of Obama's base.

That's because Trump has got some on the left questioning the story now too.

She found the original birth record, properly numbered, half typed and half handwritten, and signed by the doctor who delivered Obama, located in the files

This confirms what I think; I think he has a real BC but there's something incriminating on it.

I would almost believe that COLB is all he could get, except for the the fact that Obama has spent millions FIGHTING the release of the other form. If it's true that the COLB is all that HI will release, they would be spending money fighting the case, not Obama personally.

This story has Bob Bauer's fingerprints all over it.

Prove it’s “ludicrous” Produce a birth certificate

The uninformed morons of America are satisfied that the jpeg of Obama's fake COLB is a "birth certificate".

This is why Trump needs to keep hammering on the differences between a short form, versus a long form bc. This is the basic cloak that Obama's hiding behind.

The spokesperson for the HI attorney general’s office has said that HI law will not allow the original BC to be given even to the individual. If thats true how come numerous other people born in HI have posted their long form BC’s online as proof that the original BC shows much more info than the COLB and is signed by a doctor? Not to mention that BHO wrote in “Dreams From My Father” that he found his birth certificate among other items. So unless he conveniently lost it he has one.

Somebody correct my memory but did Fukimo every actually say the Obama was born in HI or did she just say she viewed the birth certificate? If so how come the new Gov was told there isn’t one? HOw come that guy who worked in the HI elections dept in 2008 was told they didn’t have one? Somebody is zooming somebody here.

Dr. Fukino could easily offer tangible proof of her assertions by showing the document or documents. Surely the Kenyan usurper would be delighted to show his bonafides?

At the very least, she could name the doctor and the hospital, rather than merely asserting that such exist. Even if the Kenyan usurper hasn't asked her successor to make public such records, he could be proactive and ask for such permission.

PING

New Dr. Chiyome Fukino interview.

The first is that the original so-called “long form” birth certificate — described by Hawaiian officials as a “record of live birth” — absolutely exists, located in a bound volume in a file cabinet on the first floor of the state Department of Health. Fukimo said she has personally inspected it — twice. The first time was in late October 2008, during the closing days of the presidential campaign, when the communications director for the state’s then Republican governor, Linda Lingle (who appointed Fukino) asked if she could make a public statement in response to claims then circulating on the Internet that Obama was actually born in Kenya.

Before she would do so, Fukino said, she wanted to inspect the files — and did so, taking with her the state official in charge of vital records. She found the original birth record, properly numbered, half typed and half handwritten, and signed by the doctor who delivered Obama, located in the files. She then put out a public statement asserting to the document’s validity. She later put out another public statement in July 2009 — after reviewing the original birth record a second time.
