Comments follow statements by Donald Trump questioning legitimacy of president's birth record
The Hawaiian state health official who personally reviewed Barack Obama's original birth certificate has affirmed again that the document is "real" and denounced "conspiracy theorists" in the so-called "birther" movement for continuing to spread bogus claims about the issue.

"It’s kind of ludicrous at this point," Dr. Chiyome Fukino, the former director of Hawaii's Department of Health, said in a rare telephone interview with NBC.
Fukino, sounding both exasperated and amused, spoke to a reporter in the aftermath of Donald Trump's statements on the NBC Today show last week questioning whether Obama has a legitimate birth certificate.
Trump, who says he is considering a run for president, repeated his claims on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday, saying that "nobody has any information" about the president's birth and that "if he wasn't born in this country, he shouldn't be president of the United States."

Why does Obama’s alleged BC have one???
If Fukino had any cojones at all he’d instead go publicly after Obama and ask why in the heck he won’t show the stinking birth certificate. It’s not as if the Health Department people have not been been inundated by requests from the public.
Besides, it’s almost a moot point, Obama’s daddy is a foreigner by his own admitting and that makes him ineligible for POTUS.

Although I’m 1000% on your side, this wouldn’t work. No matter how much pressure you apply to the official, as long as they’ve got a rule to hide behind, it won’t do a thing. I haven’t seen the Hawaii rules on this, but if its like most states, a birth record or other vital statistics record requires the subject’s authorization before the official can release anything.
The better thing is to hope that Trump’s new push on this subject starts the ball rolling where more and more people in the chattering classes and other celebrity types are talking about it and asking 0 the question: “Why don’t you just authorized them to release a certified copy of your original long-form birth certficate and end all this nonsense?”
I want to know what table(s) in the Hawaiian Dept of Health IT system are used to actually create the COLB and what fields are available on that table besides that crap that is shown on Zippy’s COLB. I also want a description of all those fields and what possible entries it takes on those fields. (E.G. is “African” an accepted entry?)
Furthermore, I want to know if the system has, on its master table, all the fields that are shown on the Nordyke long forms.

If they get snail mailed, emailed, faxed, called, voicemailed, smoke signaled, and protested constantly day and night relentlessly at some point they’ll break.
Any attorney would tell you, the term, "vital records", does not necessarily mean "birth certificate". It can mean any number of things, or types of documents.
And how is it that Fukino is granting permission to the Governor to talk about what is supposed to be private information regarding Obama's vital records...?
Isn't that kind of permission supposed to come from Obama...? Those are his records.
And if she's giving permission to the Governor to discuss private information about Obama's birth records publicly, how can Fukino still block access to Obama's birth records on *privacy* grounds ( on top of Obama plastering photos of his COLB all over the internet and Fukino's own public proclamations ) ...?

First off, a woman here at FR requested the long-form Hawaiian BCs for both her husband and son. DOH hassled her but because she had cause (wife,mother) they sent her the documents AFTER CLAIMING IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE!
Hawaiian officials are involved in a huge cover-up.

Why is Obama’s “half handwritten?” The only hand writing on the Nordyke’s birth certificates are signatures.

Now, now guys, she's absolute right. It is totally ludicrous to ask for the birth "records," that Abercommie admittingly, saying they don't exists, so WHY on earth ask for them or more correctly just a "CYA" statement, just wasting our time!
