Limbaugh says GOP caved on budget deal

Limbaugh says GOP caved on budget deal By Daniel Strauss - 04/11/11 01:05 PM ET Rush Limbaugh said Monday that Republican leaders "caved" on the budget deal they struck with the White House on Friday night.

On his radio show, the conservative firebrand said he was less than enthusiastic about the $38.5 billion federal spending compromise.

Limbaugh said he wished the spending cuts had been larger.

"We've shown that we'll cave. We have demonstrated that we will cave if they threaten something like government shutdown," Limbaugh said.

He added that a handful of Tea Party Republican freshmen in the House he'd talked to were "devastated" by the deal. He called the Republican House leadership in the mid-1990s, led by then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.), "revolutionaries" for allowing a shutdown instead of conceding to a deal.

Yet Limbaugh did offer some lukewarm praise for the agreement.

"Thirty-eight billion dollars, I'm sorry I can't start throwing parties over it, but it's a first step," Limbaugh said.

"I wish it would have been $100 billion, I wish it would've been $61 billion," he said.

"The Newt bunch were revolutionaries," Limbaugh said. "The House leadership today is not revolutionaries."

"Bill Press, and nearly everyone of his callers were spitting mad that the Government wasn’t shut down, and that a deal was made. They had made all of these plans on how to use a Government shut down against the Republicans – and they see it all get blown away over the weekend. I could not believe the anger they had against Obama this morning.

Of course their anger is always short lived. Give them a week or two and Obama love fest will continue."

That's nothing but a scam!! They know how to play Republicans!!

With the mood of the American people a shut-down would have been welcome to show that the new Congress means business.

What would have actually been shut down would not even be noticed by the average person. Life still goes on. Boehner should have held out for the military being paid, among other things that he caved on.

Obama immediately made a public appearance crowing about what a great job he did!! Taking all the credit.

You’re welcome. We need to all call Boner’s office, quote Lott, and tell him we highly susopect that this is what’s going on, that we will NOT be fooled and that we will NOT put up with it.

The caucus needs to kick Boehner out of his Speakership job. Put somebody in there who will stand up to these fiends running the show in Washington. Otherwise, America is cooked.

We can't wait around until 2012 to stop this train wreck and it's obvious Boohner is not up to the job.

Where is our General Grant? Lincoln went through a lot of Generals before he finally got somebody who could do the job. The key is, he kept firing the ineffective ones until he finally found the right one. Our "Lincolns" in Congress need to do the same thing. After all, they have the power to fire this guy and replace him with somebody with fire in his belly who will fight for us to win this war!

And make no mistake about it. This is a war. Today it is being waged without guns. But if we don't get a handle on it quickly it may turn in that bloody direction. A total collapse of the country will do that and that is where we are headed!

This whole BC thing is starting to unravel. People are starting to think Obama is not an American. We don’t need Rush or anyone to tell us. We already know.

Yeah, but the illegal alien is already in our White House and doing damage to our country in ways that make the Clinton damage look like a house cleaning.

This could have been avoided . . . I mean, this is a big time mess that could've been avoided.

He's been a disaster since he took over . . . another RINO, lots of bluster and no substance . . . good, deep voice like Obambi, but nothing comes out . . .

I also think he should be thrown out of office next year!

Maybe Boehner is our General Grant. The latest fight was the Wilderness. Debt ceiling will be Spotsylvania, followed by the North Anna River for the Ryan budget. Little by little we may be heading for Appomatox. To think we could win unconditional surrender with the 2011 budget is being unrealistic. We have to play chess not checkers. To go all in on the first hand is not a smart play. If we win incrementally we will retain the time needed to win in the long run( we still make sure our side is headed in the right direction). To play all in with the first hand might just hand the pot back to the Democrats. It is like marrying the gal who cheated on her husband. What makes you confident she won’t do it to you too. The same voters who voted for Obama in 2008 and then GOP in 2010 can easily switch back if we act like the bull in the china shop. Lets play it smart and win the war, not just the current battle.

A good analogy this being 146 years and 2 days after Lee surrendered at Appomattax

No victory. It seems we cannot find a Pubbie who can climb a mountain of sand carefully built by the shadow government for years now. The electorate gets what it deserves in 2012! A short term shut down is worth $62 billion! Now we in addition to inflation, are facing tax hikes! Don’t look now, but the enemy is us! Let’s her it from the Donald Trumps out there!

Taking God out of the schoolrooms, courtrooms and and Congress has brought us to this. Our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and original laws were based on the bible by and for a Christian people. Now He is withdrawing His grace from America to discipline His children.

If our amazing country is to be saved, every American must read “the Light and the Glory”, by Peter Marshall and David Manuel. Painstakingly researched and beautifully written, the best book I have ever read on the history of America from l492! Any major bookstore can order it for you.

We must repent, turn from our sins. and humble ourselves before the only source of good, our living triune God.

Yup. If the media did its job. Unfortunately the MSM is no better than Tass. They can only hide this for so long.
