Gas Prices Predicted To Be Up 40 Percent This Summer Compared To Last Year

WASHINGTON - Gas prices are going up. And up. And up. And now, the Energy Department predicts the cost of gasoline this summer will be 40 percent more than last year.

In the District of Columbia, the average price of regular unleaded jumped four cents a gallon between Monday and Tuesday.

"I think it's all kind of a farce," says driver Kathryn Abate. "Because the oil prices have gone up a little, but not really to the extent that gas prices have. So it's just like a 'predicting' thing which I think is kind of unfair to consumers."

The experts blame rising gas prices on unrest in the Middle East and a fear factor that goes with it.

"Where’s all the screaming and yelling today about the speculators or are we just supposed to wave our hands and call it inflation? Where is all this profit taking and looting going?"

In foreign manufacturing plants, where new consumers are using more oil. Sincerely, though, oil's been up steadier this time than in 2008. It's no short spike, and it's not really due to news about uprisings in the Middle East. Manufacturing production and its employees require more oil. And meantime, we're de-industrializing.

Of course.

And for the record it is also George W. Bush’s fault. After all he is personally responsible for ALL of the unrest in the Middle East: past, present and future.

;-)

Only one I see is Donald Trump

Where are the other Republicans on this? Trump is the only one who has blamed Obama for the rise in gas prices.

UN: Palestinians are ready for statehood

So, they would become the 58th state, right?

I ask people "if $2.75 gas was Bush's fault, isn't $3.75 gas obama's fault?" No one answers.

They're not hearing the constant media drumbeat that they did when gas prices went up under Bush. Amazing how that works, eh?

Speculators are not the dynamic in prices rising.
They follow the trend wherever it goes and right now the trend is upward.

The fact that there is now QE is the major dynamic along with a chilling effect by the current adim on drilling exploration and excessive regulation to achieve a political, not economic, agenda.

Don’t expect major downward trends just yet.

ALL of TV protects O. The idiots who watch TV or Hollywood movies help keep him in control.

Gas is going to $4.50 or more.

Crap! I live in CT and have a diesel car. I did not know that they are charging 20 cents more a gallon in taxes for diesel than gas.

And, the scheisskopf that we have as governor wants to raise all taxes...

Honda 919. Specifically designed to run on 87 instead of higher octanes. It has just a little power. :P

Close to a break even for me- traded in the beloved but gas guzzling Jeep for a four-banger Ford Escape.

Same here although I'd like to unload a 1994 Ford Exploder, it has other issues, so I can buy a 1985 Old Cutlass Ciera with the 2.5L Iron Duke four cylinder that gets 20 MPG highway. Not bad for 1985 or now. It was driven by my friend's grandfather until he was 103. I'm of limited means so it would be easier to fix and on parts too.

Rush should hire a P.I. to find this gal and ask her if obama is paying for her gas and mortgage.
