I wonder if they remember that Pam Bondi’s campaign photo of her getting her carry permit? Video linked below:

At Miami gun show, too.

Looks like a decent grouping...

We have here the recorded and verified statements by a law “enforcement” officer who claims that he will “draw down” on any legally carrying citizen.

So, now that that is in the record, what happens when a citizen notices this officer and takes pre-emptive measures to defend himself?

correction, she got it at private range in Port Richey. The other photos are from July 24, 2010 appearance at gunshow in Miami.

With the possible exception of St Pete cops, the LEO’a I know, and know of, are less worried about a stop of a CCW permit holder than the general public.

After all, CCW permitees lsat year shot NO LEOs.

The question: “So, now that that is in the record, what happens when a citizen notices this officer and takes pre-emptive measures to defend himself?”

The correct answer is that the citizen’s legal team videos the LEO drawing on the Open Carry citizen.

Result: One rich citizen, one rich lawyer.

PS LEO’s are not stupid, and what the Jackass-In-Uniform described won’t likely occur unless he does it.

Why not?

Ask any lawyer.

How is this not Official Oppression and an overt threat of bodily harm with a deadly weapon?

Toss these a-holes in jail until they figure out where our Rights don't kowtow to their tyranny.

Pinellas County Sheriff Jim Coates did, in fact, tell legislators that if the concealed weapons license reform bill (SB 234 and HB 517) passed that law enforcement would be "drawing down" on license holders.

Considerate of him to confess in advance that he's going to act against those who exercise their BOR rights, while they can still put a provision in the bill specifically prohibiting LEO's from doing so, with sanctions.

So he thinks it's OK to draw on someone just because you have reason to believe they're armed. Hmmmm...well, he and his deputies work for us, so our rights are at LEAST as great as theirs in any given circumstance, and he and his deputies have been known to go about armed, so...

” So are they going to start shooting on sight?”

You probaly said that tongue in cheek, but don’t be surprised when it starts happening.

So are they going to start shooting on sight?

Only if there's a dog in the car.

In Florida when you are pulled over by the police your CWFL does not come up. The systems are not linked.

Yeah. Even if I did not have a cc I would stay the hell out of Pinellas County. They want to make an example out of someone and use it to their poitical advantage.I.e. get the bill defeated.

Defund the departments. With the decline of business and real estate it’s musical budgets time. Not too many taxpayers are going to be complaining about cuts in sheriff personnel with the way they’ve been running speed traps and writing tickets the last year.

It is o.k. by me if they do. Regarding speeding tickets, about a yeat and a half ago my insurance agent advised me to watch my speed when drivinng. That the local governments needed the money and the police were riting people for going 5 mph over the speed limit.
