US Consulate Official says More American's Reported Missing in Mexico

MATAMOROS - Two more American's may be among those killed across the border in San fernando.

The Consulate General Michael Barkin tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS right now they don't know where three missing Americans could be. He says they disappeared between March and April.

The number of bodies found in the mass graves in San Fernando rose to 145 on Friday.

Barkin tells us the way those American's went missing makes them think it's possible they could be among the dead. Last week in a release the consulate's office reported one American may be one of the victims found in mass graves.

For privacy reason they won't release other details. Barkin says they're in contact with the families of those missing Americans.

Relatives with loved ones missing in Mexico have flocked to Matamoros where the bodies of some of the dead were being kept while investigators tried to identify them.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS was at the Brownsville bridge Saturday morning. Our photojournalist saw more cars crossing into the US than into Mexico. Many of the people on the street said they were coming to the Valley for vacation. They say the highways in Mexico are not safe at this time.

“American’s”???

I thought it was the poster, but this “journalist” cant tell the difference between a possessive and a plural form. No wonder there are such problems with the media. They are all illiterate!

“I’ve read reports that say 20-30 million Mexicans are missing from their country.”
Now that would be one heck of a mass grave. But that’s OK,
American citizens are expendable but don’t mess with the
coveted and protected illegal aliens. Law enforcement in
this country used to earn their respect now they demand it.

Some Americans are driving into Mexico to buy cheap gas.

Kind of like flying to Libya for a good deal on a beach vacation.

Don't anyone tell the Secretary of Homeland Security. We sure don't want to screw up Nappy's weekend.

I wonder if even the US Armed Forces could defeat the Mexican mafia? This is where we are headed I believe? If we can help protect the Libyan citizens, then Mexican citizens should be higher on our protection list.

Are the Americans of Mexican background and ethnicity perhaps visiting family? Or are they non Mexican Americans? If your not of Mexican background what would make you want to go with the violence there?

It would be like taking on terrorists since they wear no uniform and we would have to use undercover agents for intelligence...I wonder if the pentagon has a contingency plan for such a scenario...I’d imagine it would be as difficult as Iraq and Afghanistan trying to figure out who are the bad guys and I mean do we shoot to kill?
