It is *still* a character driven show, one of the best I’ve ever seen! (And I’m 50 this year!)
I agree. But the writing and effects of today makes it less dependent, than 35 years ago.
Just OK? It’s like an episode of Threes Company on steroids. It’s fantastic, IMHO.
I grew up watching her with Tom Baker in the 70s. By far my favorite companion. I even liked "The Sarah Jane Adventures" oddly.
I commented to a fellow Whovian many times on how good she looked for her age. She actually started the show with Jon Pertwee at age 17 (I think - maybe 16).
Kind of FYI for anyone reading this thread.
Doctor Who is similar to Pixar movies in that it is designed to be family friendly and give ‘scary’ monsters for the kids to hide their eyes, but at the same time, be witty and entertaining enough for adults to be pleased as well.
If you looking to promote good family entertainment, consider giving this show a go.
She was 25, and only the second "older" Companion (in that she played her actual age - most previous had been early 20s actresses playing mid-teens).
RIP Sarah Jane.
Just saw this, I missed it earlier. Sarah Jame Smith was my favorite companion. RIP Elisabeth...
:(
Whoops! Oh, well. That's what I get for believing what I hear. Thanks for the info. Someone told me years ago that she started Dr. Who in her teens.
