Assistant police superintendent Jimmy Jackson says he's concerned about gaps in the mental health screening system for would-be gun owners.

I'm concerned about gaps in the mental health screening system for would-be police superintendents.

Funny you bring this up because there was a lawsuit recently out of Champaign Illinois where someone sued the PD because they hired a cop who had been diagnosed with mental issues and as you can guess this cop went nuts on a call and beat some guy into a coma.

During the suit is was found by attorneys that the state of Illinois does not legally require any law enforcement agency to check the mental health records or any health records of any candidate for police officer. They are only required to pass a physical and take the MMPI test.

If they pass both they are in.
