Donald Trump: I've Said My Piece On Obama's Birth Certificate
TPM ^ | April 21, 2011 | Evan McMorris-Santoro

Posted on 04/21/2011 7:32:20 AM PDT by Smokeyblue

Could Donald Trump be following Karl Rove's advice and dropping his public birtherism once and for all? In an op-ed published in USA Today on Thursday morning, Trump writes that he's ready to stop all the birther chatter.

"I have spoken my piece on this issue," Trump wrote, reminding readers that "many people have the same doubts as I have."

Trump says he's ready to shift the conversation about his maybe-candidacy to something more substantive.

"My concern lies with people like the single mom who recently wrote to me that she now works a third job to pay for the gas to get to the other two," Trump writes.

"as his USA Today op-ed was hitting the carpet outside hotel room doors everywhere -- Trump told CNN that "at a certain point in time I'll be revealing some interesting things" about Obama's birth"

Where are those videos of the various “chicken dances” from Arrested Development? I know I’ve got them here somewhere.

"The single mom who recently wrote to me that she now works a third job to pay for the gas to get to the other two,"

Pitching emotionalism just like every other pol. Reagan and Palin, and even Bachmann do this too -- but they at least used it a starting point for selling bigger ideals.

Why don’t the media ask Obama about it directly instead of saying....Donald said....

Trump is a smart guy- he kows when an issue is being co-opted and being used to play him, and how to reassert control over the dialogue and stay on offense

This is where Michele Bachmann and Pawlenty and GOP others need to learn to play like a man

Let the chips fall now on obama’s past life- time will tell and hopefully soon

Thanks to Trump (and hopefully Corsi, who in 2008 was falsely imprisoned and threatened in Kenya but is now ready to rumble), Elvis has left the building in a big way

Exactly. Trump talked about his investigators in Hawaii and all the amazing things being uncovered regarding BHO.

Now he wants to put it behind him?

Trump to credibility: “Goodbye”

We don’t need ideals. We need a practical international business CEO who can do something about the situation.

That is what Trumps response should be to anyone who asks him about it.

What does he bring to the table if not the “birther” issue? Take over Middle East oil and protectionism? Is this really what we want to use to beat the dems in 2012? He has no “explosive” info from Hawaii. He’s just like that African web newspaper which claimed to have a Kenyan birth certificate “really soon”.

Trump says we need a nation of desperate single moms working three jobs for him to win.

Nothing wrong with emotional if it is true

Talk radio local (WCBM Baltimore) this morning FULL of people getting real emotional over what gas prices are doing to them

Meanwhile Sutoro is partying with the high rollers in Vegas and CA and calling ordinary Americnas “slugs” and wishing for gas to reach $10 a gallon so he can assert his controlling govt agenda over our lives

I am shocked that among those high rollers there is not ONE patriot who will reveal what Sutoro is is really like and really intending to do. Haven't they figured out this guy is not just using rhetoric when he spouts off his marxist-fascist arrogant anti-American crap

Ah, well, the popcorn was good for the duration.
I'll get some more if he comes out with more.
He'll see that his numbers drop after this statement.
In the mean time he should continue to study the issue so that he's better informed.

Maybe Trump was just softening up the ground before the release of the Corsi book. I sure hope this book is not just fluff and innuendo. If that’s all Trump has, he will see his popularity tumble fast.
