Actual accidents among actual children are very low—as another poster said, 5 gallon buckets sitting around are much more dangerous than guns.

Most if not all urban pediatricians ask that and other intrusive crap on their forms as a new patient
Just like hospitals always ask if anyone has abused or threatened you in your home our workplace
I know its for women mostly but they ask me too

I raised them both myself, and I've never, ever had any of those questions asked of me or my children by a doctor or nurse.
One advantage to being a country mouse, I reckon. My kids never once saw a Pediatrician. They went to the same doctor as dad.
If I ever go to a doctor who asks me about firearms I will tell him that I am going out to the waiting room to give medical advice to patients.

the two oldest did pediatrics with a Cuban female doc who was a friend of ours in Miami at her Coral Gables office and she would have never asked such nonsense.
she was a stalwart being her daddy was a “brigade” vet
but in the 2000s here in Nashville Green Hills or even conservative Franklin were I live now they do it
I asked the last doc what the hell...he said it was a form thing made by the Pediatrics association and to just ignore it

Instead simply ask the Doctor Sir exactly what formal training in firearms safety have you had & does your malpractice insurance carrier know you are asking these questions & would you like me to inform them .
The threat of calling the malpractice insurance carrier & telling them about the Doctor practicing outside their scope of practice will have a sobering effect on all but the dimmest in the profession.

The two questions now are, one, will the governor sign the bill into law, and two, will the adoption of the legislation be followed by similar legislation in other states.
