Ron Paul Launches Presidential Campaign (Drudge: He's In!)
National Journal ^

Posted on 04/26/2011 4:22:54 AM PDT by quesney

Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, whose outspoken libertarian views and folksy style made him a cult hero during two previous presidential campaigns, will announce on Tuesday that he's going to try a third time.

Sources close to Paul, who is in his 12th term in the House, said he will unveil an exploratory presidential committee, a key step in gearing up for a White House race. He will also unveil the campaign’s leadership team in Iowa, where the first votes of the presidential election will be cast in caucuses next year.

Meet the GOP's Potential Candidates

Paul, 75, ran as the Libertarian Party candidate in 1988, finishing with less than one half a percent of the vote. After more than a decade as a Republican congressman,

Paul gave it another shot in the 2008 presidential election, gaining attention for being the only Republican candidate calling for the end to the war in Iraq and for his “money bomb” fundraising strategy, which brought in millions of dollars from online donors in single-day pushes.

Paul took 10 percent of the vote in the Iowa caucuses and 8 percent in New Hampshire’s primary. He finished second, with 14 percent of the vote, in the Nevada caucuses, and eventually finished fourth in the Republican nominating process with 5.6 percent of the total vote. Paul’s campaign book, The Revolution: A Manifesto also reached No. 1 on The New York Times best-seller list in 2008.

This would seem to be an ideal year for Paul: Since the last election, the Republican Party has moved much closer to his view on deficit reduction, which made him an early tea party favorite. All of the party's top-tier presidential hopefuls are focusing on lowering debt, government spending, and tax rates, issues Paul has long advocated.

Ron Paul is one of the only Republicans at this time that could beat the Obamanation nation of zombie slave minds.

He is PROVEN prolife, PROVEN supporter of freedom of concience, support of the constitution and freedom of association. PROVEN anti Marxist, anti globalist, anti police state (unlike most all other republicans now). He believes in changing the government back to what the US Constitution commands and giving more power to each individual state.

Why most Republicans hate him is because he does not bow down to their (false conservative) Police State agenda or using tax dollars to fund countries, international agencies, and wars all over the world which should be left in the hands of the people’s of those sovereign nations, unlike what most republicans and democrats now believe and are furthering which is the GLOBAL ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT, ONE WORLD COURT, ONE WORLD BANK, UN, IMF, OECD MARXIST AGENDA.

No one is perfect includling you or Ron Paul, but if you think Palin can beat Obama you are still living in dreamland and she isn’t half the person Ron Paul is, she should use her influence to support people like Paul and other lesser known Replublicans instead of thinking she should lead.

It shows how pathetic you are to imply Ron Paul is a racist because some racists are seen in a photo with him or who visited one of his meetings and held signs up. I wonder what photos and signs I could find from Reagan rallys decades ago too, signs and photos from other people prove nothing, everyone should have a right to express themselves whether you agree with them or not. Ron Paul is not a racist but he is not going to try and legislate thought crimes upon you to force you to think differently and obey the globalist politically correct agenda like the other vast majority of the Replublicans and Democrats do every single day.

In the end it doesn’t really matter as Ron Paul was one of the last voices to warn of the impending doom coming upon all western countries including the US, but the vast majority of people are just zombie slave minds to whatever the media or their party tells them to believe.

Not at all. Amnesty would not require registration nor would Americans be first in line for jobs.

He is PROVEN prolife

Are you talking about the Ron Paul who DEMANDED that an under aged girl be allowed to cross state lines in order to get an abortion?

Cut and run blames every problem in the world on America. He wants to put his head in the sand instead of admitting there is a terrorist problem in the world. He says he is against earmarks, but he sticks everyone he can find in every bill he can find. Can you name one thing he has ever accomplished in all the time he has been in Washington? Never mind, I already know. You can't. Don't feel bad though, because no other paulbot can either.
Cut and run should run on the cindy sheehan anti-America party ticket. He fits in there better than anywhere else.

His endorsement of Adam Kokesh is one of a number of individual things that alone should disqualify him.

The Paul movement is just another side of the same coin as the Obama movement - it’s a personality cult. The behavior of both camps is very similar. The goals of both are to weaken the U.S. as much as possible.

Surely that’s not Cindy Sheehan, is it? (in the pic) They both have the same idea concerning our war(s) against terrorism and involvement in other countries.

They are not alone. A staunch supporter of the candidacies of both Ron and Rand Paul now has his own show on the Russia Today anti-American propaganda network. The Pauls and Kokesh are always doing each other favors:

Ron Paul Endorses Adam Kokesh for Congress (Code Pinko Barf Alert)

What’s worse than Cindy Sheehan being in that Paul rally picture. You should be more concerned about the guy Cindy is cheek to cheek with. The guy in the Ron Paul shirt is Jamie Kelso, one of the founders of Stormfront and one of the nastiest racists you’ll find. Kelso was also one of the grassroots leaders of Paul’s last run. (albeit not ‘officially’ tied to the campaign ::wink wink::).

"Get the net!"

I don't want Paul to run for president. I just want him to run.

This to me sounds like the end of drafting Rand Paul to run for the presidency, at least in 2012, barring some unforeseen event. Rand has stated he would not run if his father were.
