The White House released President Obama's original birth certificate Wednesday.
The surprise release follows recent and sustained remarks by businessman Donald Trump, among others, that raised doubts as to whether the president was born in the United States.

Wrong. Michael Dukakis would have been ineligible if that were the constitutional standard. Jonah Goldberg at NRO runs this down.
And, don't forget Spiro Agnew who had to be constitutionally eligible for the Presidency in order to be "one heartbeat away" from it.
The 1920 U.S. Census, taken after Agnew was born, shows that his father was still an "Alien" in 1920.
According to the latest polls, 75% of America is not "Birther" but only 38% of America is "certain" if Obama was born in the U.S. The bottom line is that America is losing patience with the "Hiders", too.
The winning strategy is to tap into the 62% of Americans that want to be certain. Keep asking the questions:
1.) Why won't President Obama simply end this circus by releasing the long-form document?
2.) "What is President Obama hiding and why is he hiding it?"
So, the rest of his lifetime paper trail is immaterial? School financial records, classes attended and grades, social security ID's used, passport records don't matter? No transparency here.

This is the long form. This is all your going to get. I'd encourage you to move onto real issues that will actually effect how people vote in 2012 - the economy, gas prices, etc. We are not going to defeat Obama with birther conspiracies.

It is neat that Trump, after 3 year of stonewalling and claims that it couldnt be done, was able to get Obama camp to jump. But get real - the doctor that gave birth to him signed this long-form that shows him born at Kapiolani.
Nobody thought a botched 3-rate burglary at some hotel would bring down a President.

Look, CitizenUSA, the fact of the matter is that this issue is not going to go away so we need to tap into the 62% of all Americans that, according to the most recent polls, are not "certain" about anything regarding Obama's claims.
The way you do that is to put Obama on the defensive, like Trump did, and just keep asking:

Correct. There was no checkbox it was typed so they could put anything they wanted in there. It’s not odd at all that some visitor from Africa consider himself ethnically “African”.

That's true. It's also true that people CAN change their minds based on the new evidence. Those invested in it - take a deep breath, look with open mind. There were questions about what hospital - settled. Questions about the doctor - settled. Question about why "African" was on the COLB - settled, it was on the original BC document. Question about the parents, names and their place of birth - settled. No, they werent hiding "Frank Davis MarshalL" as the Dad.
I want to thank Donald Trump for causing this to get out there now. My fear was that the Obama campaign would wait for October 2012 to pull this stunt, hurting the GOP in the election and distracting from what will get OBama defeated - deficits, bad leadership and lousy economic performance. Getting this out of the way NOW should enable us to get to the real issues.

The birther conspiracy is more analagous to the claims that Bush went in a U2 spy plane before the 1980 election to Paris to fix a deal for releasing the US hostages in Iran.

For years, people have asked for the long-form BC. Now they’ve got it, the same form the Nordyke twins got in 1966.
Now you know the hospital he was born in and the Doctor who delivered him. And you also know everything on the COLB matches up with it.
The burglary really happened.
In this case, Obama was born in the Honolulu hospital he said he was born in. He has Hawaii records to attest to it.
There is no ‘there’ there.
Birthers are left with the last desperation move of a conspiracy theorist, which is to claim ALL THE EVIDENCE THAT CONTRADICTS THEIR FAIRY TALE IS FORGED. You can dismiss ANY AND ALL EVIDENCE that way - it is a perfect way to hermetically seal your theory from actual reality.

I agree with you. At this point continuing the Birther issue because the form MIGHT be forged also is now on par with people who think the Moon landing was faked in a Hollywood studio.
I was skeptical before, and the timing of this release is suspicious, but this appears to be the real thing and closes the issue for me.
People who keep beating this dead horse are going to look like ultra-fools and the left will hold them up as “examples of conservatives.”
And the TOTUS-reader gave us something to have fun with: his on-screen tantrum when he released it. He looked and sounded like a 2-year old who has to sit in the corner.

They have him down as “, II” — the son is “Jr.,” “II” is the nephew with the same name.

More like Trump is working with Obama to lure too many Republicans into talking like non-serious empty heads to give the left PR fuel that Republicans are stupid. Remember Trump once staged a multi-episode act with WWF(W) owner Vice McMahan to make believe he would take over the WWF(W). Same scam.

Remember that marine that was convicted of refusing orders and claimed in defense at the trial that Obama was not really president because he didnt see Obama's BC? There were a few psychos on a thread here at the time (last summer I think) that wanted the military to overthrow the government over that.

FWIW, my grandfather was a II and he was born much earlier than the 60s.. I think it’s a choice the parents make.
