So obviously, in light of the official word from Hawaii on releasing long forms, what was released today is fake!
Thus, Obama should be prosecuted under Hawaii law for releasing fraudulent documents.

Hawaii normally doesn't provide certified copies of long forms. However, Obama specifically asked them to make an exception for him, and they complied.
As to your other points, no official in a position to know ever swore that Obama did not have a long form. Tim Adams wasn't an official, but a mere clerk who had no way of knowing one way or the other whether Obama had a long form. Officials in a position to know, namely, Governor Lingle and Health Director Fukino, have consistently maintained that he had a long form on file, which now, lo and behold, he's released.
I'm actually a little surprised he released it this soon. If I were him, I'd wait until after the GOP primary, as that would ensure the issue remain in the spotlight, creating a distraction for the GOP primary candidates. Thankfully, by releasing it now, Obama is ensuring it will be long forgotten by this time next year.
From everything I’ve read, Hawaii has been a sloppy, irresponsible, lying den of iniquity since the days of Captain Cook.

I think Obammie was watching the polls. Over 1/2 of Repubs and a 1/3 of all Americans were birthers. And Trump was kicking his butt on this issue. He had to act now.

I don’t think any common folk could secure their records just with some letters unless they had a POA and/or a notarized request. Also, he gets someone local to communicate to the the state requested a waiver of state policy that allows only for the dissemination of computer-generated “short form” documents.

Heck, when the eligibility issue came up WAY BEFORE the election, people on our side took the announcement in the newspaper as proof of Obama birth certificate.
And it was a concerted effort on our side to shut up the so-called birthers, saying other Obama issues should make him unelectable. It was mostly them that called the birthers nuts, fringe, and other names. And look at where their grand strategy got us?
I blame these people (esp. people in blogsphere) as much as the lamestream media that foist this fake on us. THEY FAILED US.
