Mr Trooprally sent the following report for this weeks after action report:
First of all, last night was a lot better than last week NO RAIN ! It was a really good night.
The buses did not come till 9:25PM. This Friday nights Wounded Warrior dinner was held in downtown DC in a restaurant featuring a 10 course meal.(They deserve it).
The three children in the pictures were from the surrounding area. They asked if they could have flags. And you will see the ones we gave them in the photo. We also shared some our snacks with them. The older boy said When he got home he was going to put this flag in my room and treat it with respect!! They were very polite and stood with us for a few minutes.
We were delighted that Stay-True, an original Friday night Freeper, came out for the evening, it was great to have him here. The buzz last night was the White House Correspondents Dinner.
We were joined by a visitor, Ali, last night. She is temporarily at WRAMC until it closes. Ali is from Georgia and wasnt aware of our Support the Troops rally every Friday night. RonGKirby, and Mr. and Mrs. Trooprally explained our history. She was moved by the Walter Reed Friday night history, went home and wrote the email below to the Trooprallys. Ali said she may be back next week. We hope so.
The E-mail from Ali to the Trooprallys, April 29, 2011
Ron and his friends from conservative group Free Republic come out to Walter Reed every Friday to show support to our Soldiers. This makes approximately 315 times theyve done this!
What you cant see in this photo are the multiple groups at each corner, the banners, the flags, the signs. What you cant hear is the sound of horns honking and music playing.
They started as a counter to protesters six years or so again and they have kept up their effort ever since. They also have taken Soldiers into their homes for supper, brought in food and other items for their kids. So interesting up close!
There are probably better pictures on their website freerepublic.com. Click on (keyword) Walter Reed for more on this particular group.
RonG has been doing this for three years. Hes a Marine, Vietnam Vet, civil engineer, American. He and his friends like Mr & Mrs TroopRally truly understand whats real and important! God Bless them and others determined to do this for the troops. So inspiring! Carry on good and faithful servants...

DC PING
Maryland PING!
Thanks for posting. It is almost shorts weather. It was PIZZA weather as [Mrs] T is once again placing pizza orders.
Wind was a little more than the MOAB could handle by its self. Too few FReepers to steady it all night. HINT, it would be great to see some of our regulars from years past as our WR FReep winds down. There isn’t much time for that last hooray.
A husband-wife team also stopped by for a minute. They also were there till the closing of WR. And they were also glad to see us.
[Mr] T, just another “fall” guy
I am glad to hear about the r-e-s-p-e-c-t for the flag that you taught the young man. Schools don't even start assemblies with the pledge anymore. Flag etiquette? I don't think so! Maybe he will even teach his friends!
I missed being there this week. It was so nice to stand beside you last week.
I will see you again in early July!
Thanks for the ping, as always! So nice that Spring is bringing some better weather. Bless all of you for being there come rain or shine in support of our heroes!
Hubby and I plan to see you in early July too if all goes as planned.:)
Enjoyed the pictures. Great work you all are doing. Wish I lived closer, but alas. Supporting you in spirit from way down here in Texas.
Very nice that the young boys wanted to have flags.
Maybe they will start a trend where their friends will want to own American flags. What a concept!
[Mr] T
Off subject for one sec. I find it interesting there is no after action report on the White House Correspondence Dinner. Don't know if anyone went.
Anyway, my point is, this is a much more worthy event.
Again, thank you all.
nice report and pictures
