DALLAS (AP) – Flag-waving supporters left flowers and patriotic red, white and blue balloons outside the Dallas home of former President George W. Bush Monday in the hours that followed the U.S.-led mission that killed Osama bin Laden.
“Thank you President Bush,” said a sign left on the gate outside the street leading to the secluded Bush residence.
About a dozen people gathered near his security-tight residence until a thunderstorm rolled into the area early Monday.
“George Bush did so many great things for our country. We really wanted to be with him to celebrate this momentous day in American history,” Billy Fox, a college student, told WFAA-TV.
“We love America,” said Fox, who held a U.S. flag. “This hangs in my dorm room every day, it’s my roommate’s, and I said we had to bring it out to celebrate America.”
Bush, who was home when he learned of bin Laden’s death late Sunday, released a statement congratulating President Barack Obama and praising the U.S. military personnel involved in the operation in northern Pakistan. Bush was in power on 9/11 when terrorists commandeered four commercial jets, crashing them in New York City, Washington D.C. and in Pennsylvania, killing nearly 3,000 people.

It’s heartening to know that some Americans thought to share their celebration with President Bush. I know he is as proud of the team that carried out this mission as if it had happened under his command.
I know one thing this will cause. There are going to be a lot of guys at bars and clubs claiming to be Navy Seals or ex-Seals in order to pick up women, just like they claimed to be firefighters after 9/11 to score.

Bush was a class act. I wish he had gotten bin Laden on his watch. Obama is a sad excuse for a President.

Going on record here, that the moment I heard that report, I knew that not only could I no longer believe ANYTHING the media and/or the government tells me, (since they are for all intents and purposes, one and the same), but that even if it all was true, that I still can not trust any of them to do the right thing for us. Any decisions that are made, any “news” that is reported, is to serve someone’s purpose at the expense of our nation.
May God continue to bless and watch over those who serve, and may He give the rest of us strength and wisdom whenever we find ourselves in need of it.
