WASHINGTON – Only one of the five people killed in the raid that got Osama bin Laden was armed and fired a shot, a senior defense official said Thursday, acknowledging the new account differs greatly from original administration portrayals of a chaotic, intense and prolonged firefight. The sole shooter in the al-Qaida leader's Pakistani compound was quickly killed in the early minutes of the commando operation, details that have become clearer now that the Navy SEAL assault team has been debriefed, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the record.

I think the intel was bad, the SEALS were screwed, and it WILL come out eventually. They were sent after women and children...blind...and in an untried newfangled helo that effing crashed. This had to have been horrendous for these guys. And I would bet they ain’t happy about it.

Once again Obama and his henchmen have shown their ineptness. They took a great victory in the war on terror and made it look like a key stone cop movie. All they have down is change the story so many times that even they can't keep the lies straight per Carney.

They would have been much better off letting the Pentagon or someone from Spec Ops brief the country on tyhe operation. But noooo, Obama had to toot his own horn and wanted to make sure everyone knew he was in charge. Obama was a blundering booby before this op and he continues to show he still is one.

I've never heard any comments on OBL having dialysis. Did he go out of the hut or was there a machine there. Assuming he needed it 3/week there should be something there. Oh well, I don't believe one thing that comes from this totally corrupt group in D.C.

and no one from a near by military installation heard a thing for 20 minutes? Sure the Seals might have had quiet guns, but bin Ladin's guys certainly didn't. Laughable...

I do not know the validity; but, they did encounter a fake door & were shot at as they entered the House......Then they had to make their way up to the third floor to find Bin Laden.....

Shhhhhh... they were supposed to shoot him. If that decision hadn't been made up front, the mission wouldn't have gone off. The Seals wouldn't have gone in if there was any ambiguity about it.

whether they were surrendering or not is irrelevant if the seals had kill orders. That is one example of what very special units like the one that did this are for.

Obama’s focus groups have ruined the narrative of a great job by the SEALS.

The SEALs' job of occupying the building, disarming or neutralizing any armed resistance in the building and holding the building against outside forces was accomplished. What happened to UBL and the others was at the discretion of non-military team members.

The Pakistani's were involved, then they weren't... A Pakistani helecopter crashed, then it didn't... A woman was used as a human shield, then she wasn't... The woman was one of Osama's many wives, then she wasn't... The woman was killed, then she wasn't... Osama was armed to the teeth, then he wasn't.... Osama was going for his gun, then he wasn't.... Women and children killed, then they weren't... Man with a squirt gun shot, then he wasn't.... Osama's "burial" was according to mooslimb tradition, then it wasn't... DUh-bama will release photos, then he won't... No information was gleaned from enhanced interrogation or GITMO, then it was... Osama's son was killed in the raid, then he wasn't...

The SEALs captured and secured the compound then the spooks came in and interrogated the remaining residents. Some might have tried to escape.
