Obama in Indianapolis Friday to talk about hybrid buses, reducing oil imports

President Obama will visit Indianapolis, IN on Friday, rescheduling a trip to Allison Transmission, a global provider of commercial-duty automatic transmissions and hybrid-propulsion systems, that was delayed due to budget negotiations. The White House says that the President will tour Allison's facilities before speaking to workers about the importance of slashing oil imports, while also addressing the immediate need for a cleaner and more secure energy future.

What sounds like a good idea in principle just ain’t here yet, even though the electric car is more than a hundred years old. Much handwaving doesn’t hide the fact that the best and lightest electric batteries are terribly expensive, terribly unreliable, and create terrible pollution in their processing and reprocessing.

My company makes the electric motors that make the Allison transmission and the buses a hybrid. And our CEO hates Obama. This ought to get good.
