WASHINGTON — Maine's Olympia Snowe has long thrived as one of the Senate's leading GOP moderates, but she has recently sided with tea partyers on high-profile votes involving Libya, the budget and the environment as she braces for a primary challenge from the right.

Such votes could help Snowe fend off tea party foes who mock her as a "RINO" - Republican In Name Only - and hope to sink her bid for a fourth term next year.

Snowe insisted she's been true to her moderate roots.

You’d think Maine would be more effective at Snowe removal.

“You’d think Maine would be more effective at Snowe removal.”

Maybe too reliance upon chemical application.

Not enough old school snow plows.

Maybe if the citizens of Maine can replace her with a true conservative, going from faux red to true red, I’ll visit the state and spend some money.

I know it’s a beatiful place.

If we can get her out, Collins will know she is next. I wonder if there is a decent candidate to replace her...does anyone know?

she has recently sided with tea partyers on high-profile votes involving Libya, the budget and the environment

{A few votes with the tea partyers might get her elected so she can continue her subversive activities in the senate.}

Her big (R) vote was for Obmacare.

I’ve lost 2 Grandfathers, 2 Grandmothers, 1 Great Aunt, 1 Aunt, my first Wife to breast cancer, my first Wifes Mother and Father, my first Wives Brother, my Mother and Father six months apart......2 Dogs and 1 Cat....it’s called death, the present, but not for long, nature of this life.
I’ve been laid off. It’s always been an opportunity.

My condolences.

Now you qualify to be a senator from Maine.

Thanks,

And, Why yes I do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’d move to Maine from Florida and run as a Tea Partier.....but, my wife and I are both from Minnesooooota, and after her first summer in Florida.....she became a COMPLETE freeze baby. I still love her......though!

So, I don’t think Maine is in the future.

Plus, Maine residents brag about being a vacationland, but they do not want out-of-staters coming up there. They just want out-of-state tax money funnelled to them through the federal government.

In their misguided goal to be a pristine wilderness, they do not have billboards at the exits off route 95. It would be nice to know which exit to take to get to the Holiday Inn in Bangor, but NOOOOOO we mustn’t have billboards. And they have VACATIONLAND on their number plates?

Maine residents deserve no more federal tax dollars to support their backwoods, socialist lifestyle.

You either have a political party with a likeminded philosophy of governance or you have something like the Republican party as it now exists with loose cannons like Snowe. You decide.

We are a nasty, cruel people regarding strangers in many areas.

It has to be this way here.
