An Illinois lawmaker says parents who have obese children should lose their state tax deduction. "It's the parents' responsibility that have obese kids," said state Sen. Shane Cultra, R-Onarga. "Take the tax deduction away for parents that have obese kids." Cultra has not introduced legislation to deny parents the $2,000 standard tax deduction, but he floated the idea Tuesday, when lawmakers took a shot at solving the state's obesity epidemic.

>>Already here.<<

Just in case, I think I’ll order a Meat Lover’s Pizza tonight before the Nanny Staters legislate tofu substitutes.

But I see you see that I am not joking.

I’m sure glad Texas only allows legilators to meet for 140 days every 2 years. They don’t have the time to write so many meddlesome laws.

Yet ANOTHER reason I am quitting California. There is no more evil force in the world than a politician who wants to Do Good and Sleep Well with Other People’s Money.

Texas, I am going to make you a Redder shade of Rouge before Year’s end.

Cultra was just “floating” the idea? He needs to be floated out of office.

I know, the I don't like the way you look tax. And the, if you have more then 1.2 kids tax. And the toilet paper use tax...oh that's right, they are already trying to pass that one. Oh, I know, let's put a water gauge on all well's and tax you on your water use of your own water. Oh yea, they are trying to pass that one too.

These people must sit around all day trying to figure out how to take more of our hard earned money.

If the state exhibits the same skill in managing childhood nutrition as it exhibits in managing the state’s fiscal resources, running state departments efficiently, keeping the roads in decent shape.....OUR KIDS ARE DOOMED!

I have an idea. Instead of slapping parents with taxes, why not beat some sense into politicians heads with a baseball bat?

Ah brother, long have I shared that dream as well because 1) It will be so much more satisfying than a bullet, which is too good for them and, 2) I want to watch them go apeshit banning baseball bats at wally world as a result of it.

So Sen. Brain Trust wants to force incentivize parents to monitor what their children eat? Let's see, Senator...do you think people recognize when their kids are fat?

Yes? So, if the parents of the child are OK with their kid's weight, who exactly are YOU to complain? What makes you think you know better than the child's parents?

No? If a parent somehow doesn't notice or care to notice that their kid is fat, what makes you think you telling them will help the situation? Do you somehow picture some warm, fuzzy moment when Mom and Dad hold a loving family meeting where they outline a 6-point plan for getting healthy? Get real.

I wonder if the good people of Illinois knew this guy was such an arrogant jerk when they voted for him. How IS it that elected officials think it's their job to tell other people how to live?

Cultra is a fool for saying this publicly. The MSM will hang this around the neck of Conservatives for at least the next year.
