Looks like the flag-burner thought twice about his plan.
The fact that 1,000 people showed up in a surly mood for the festivities might have had something to do with it.
All in all, not a bad outcome.

There should have been a counter-protest featuring the burning of an 0bama flag, communist and/or SEIU flag.

Funny how those crude, uneducated Cajuns manage to have a lot more class than the typical liberal idiot. Had he burned that flag, he would have regretted it. And you so-called free speech loving libs can shove it up your smelly Obama.
(BTW, I’m one of those crude Cajuns, and d*mn proud of it.)

Smart move especially if there were any vets watching. We don’t take too kindly to a-holes burning our colors.

So what now? He gets a invite from ‘Moochele’ to burn it on the White House lawn and then ribs and beer afterward with the ‘President’?

I think the use of super soakers and water balloons was the right approach as it simply mocked him.

There should have been a counter-protest featuring the burning of an 0bama flag, communist and/or SEIU flag. And a few Queerans for good measure.

I think the use of super soakers and water balloons was the right approach as it simply mocked him. Agreed. I'd have preferred that it didn't get physical at all, but no harm done here.
The story didn't mention that he was doing this in protest to the arrest of another student who took down the flag from the campus war memorial and burned it. Obviously the kid doesn't grok that burning someone else's flag is theft and vandalism, not free speech.

Good point - can we include a poet talking about burning obama for the murder of bin laden? I mean, that is “poetry” right? I just saw a woman who heads some pretend like center for the rights of women or something on Fox, defending the rapper named Common (who the heck is he?) saying he is just chronicling “the fight” that goes on every day with profiling. So defending cop killers or the physical harm or death of President Bush is just good poetry.

it was brilliant.
my generation made the mistake of consent by our statements like “I don’t agree with your speech but I’ll defend with my life your right to say it.” There were no consequences and they grew up arrested in their development.
The super soakers and water balloons are just the right touch to put out their ‘fire’!

bookmarking to check later as I can’t get the videos on this computer. But I did like the pic of him being doused with water :-) Very imaginative. I also hope the young man in uniform who is pictured yelling at him doesn’t get in trouble with his command.

I’m curious. Why do you see that as a mistake? I’ve been to places where free speech doesn’t exist. That’s not how we want to be.
