Can the US Congress "arrest" and "detain" members of the other 3 branches of US Government? Also Is there a detainment facility w/in the US Capitol Bldg Complex for this?

Where is this coming from? And you’ll have to provide a lot more information before you can even think of getting an answer?

No. At that, I’m not even sure their subpoena powers are legal.

What other *three* branches? Are you talking about the 'jon stewart' media as a 'branch'?

Congressman Clement L. Vallandingham of Ohio was arrested by 67 Federal agents at his Dayton home in the middle of the night. He was tried by a military tribunal and deported on the orders of Abraham Lincoln.

It’s called “impeachment”: there are Constitutional processes for what amounts to “grand jury”, “jury trial”, and then actual criminal prosecution. (To oversimplify.)

What do you have in mind?

He was arrested under Lincoln’s orders not US Congress’s.

No, Congress cannot. It does no have the authority. All it an do is subpoena. And no, there is no detainment facility within the Capitol complex, unless you’re talking about the press galleries. When people are arrested in the Capitol complex, they have to be taken to the DC jail.

I don’t know the answer to your specific question, or part of it. There are three branches of government, Legislative, Judicial and the Executive. Congress is but one of the three branches. The way you phrased your question suggests there are four branches with Congress being one of them. Who are the other three you are thinking of?

Congress, in session, can subpoena persons to testify. A person can be found in contempt of Congress but I don’t know if they can order an arrest (I presume they can) but who actually makes the “arrest”, I don’t know.

Interesting question.

I find many people hold Congress in contempt. Who can/will arrest them for us?

Poor example, IMHO. Lincoln had no regard for the Constitution in general and the Bill of Rights in particular.
