Latino leaders who went to bat for Jerry Brown in last year's campaign are now counting on the governor to help them pass bills supporting farmworkers and illegal immigrants.
Latino census growth, the pending redrawing of political districts and the election of a Democrat for the state's top office create a confluence of opportunity not seen in years, activists say.
"We are turning back the ugliness of a previous period, piece by piece," Nativo Lopez of the Mexican American Political Association said of the 1990s, when voters approved a ban on public benefits to illegal immigrants that later was deemed unconstitutional.

Democrat party - selling out America for votes.

He means “we are undermining America’s sovereignty, pieza por pieza. VIVA LA RAZA!”
Won’t matter, state bankruptcy eminent.
Unconstitutional.
This will continue until California is ceded to Mexico. If we’re going to have laws like those... why again do we have borders?
And RINOs. They're just as guilty on the immigration issue.
When non-whites didn't get special treatment based on their skin color and/or their inability to speak understandable english.
I don’t know what they are complaining about. I work in a refinery in the Los Angeles area. About 95% of truck drivers (big rigs and smaller trucks), delivery and support people are Latinos. About half the security personnel, and the various trades are also Latino. They seem to have no trouble finding jobs.
I used to work in a factory that employed a lot of Latinos and got to know a lot of them personally. While I was impressed with their work ethic, there were significant cultural differences that should give American citizens pause. First, Latinos have established enclaves in many of our cities where they don’t have to speak English or take steps to assimilate. These folks consider the entire Western US to be an extension of Mexico. Second, many are just here for the money and perks and couldn’t care less about our American values. Third, many have no loyalty to the United States. I asked a few that if called upon during a national emergency if they would ever take up arms to defend the United States, most said “No, I’d go back to Mexico.” Why would we willingly permit or welcome a potential army of occupation? It’s insane. Call me racist if you want, but in communities where Latinos are in control, life is much like it is in Mexico, and Mexico is a failed state. Why else were they trying to escape?
You left out that soccer is their second favorite sport falling just behind drunk driving.
“This will continue until California is ceded to Mexico”
That might not be a bad idea.
Ping!
But the people we elected have steadfastly ignored the obvious and apparently think that they can keep a lid on the boiler.
Isn't true.
And Invasion is not a civil right, no matter what Lopez thinks.
Talk about keeping a lid on the boiler, check this out:
