IIRC, he is close to Governor Palin. I don’t know a ton about Rick Perry, but he’s made comments regarding education and needing a “healthy populace” that make me stop and say...waaaaaaaaait a second. MYOB. lol.

I don't watch any of these shows, but Newt is often
"lost in translation" and doesn't fit well into sound bites (except for something like bumper-sticker "Drill Here, Drill Now" that he advocated others to print).
I feel cognitive dissonance when I read things ascribed to him that he supposedly "said" than when I hear his first-hand interview or speech. I can see a thought process that I haven't seen in most Republican politicians, let alone GOP Presidential candidates. I can't be the only one, I hope.

Rush still needs to ask him why he showed up on the couch with Nancy, and why he called the WOT a “silly war” at the Aspen Institute.

oh, just hang on, I'm sure he's typing up that email right now! LOL!!
I have said before, a conservative DOES NOT get on a couch with a lounge lizard and agree to eat tripe for breakfast.

I’d vote for RuPaul before I’d vote for 0bama.
THERE I SAID IT!
LOL! Rush talking about Noot and the Couch and Hitlery. His passive aggressive commentary is cracking me up. Now another pro Rick Perry article. LMAO...

Democrat character-assassination campaign waged against him in 1996? I don't know.
Perhaps he is upset that Republicans didn't stand stronger with him during that period? Who knows. All I know is that Newt's comments starting around the Pelosi takeover of Congress started to make me scratch my head.

Compassionate Conservatism has been a failure. Exactly. Newt was not a part of it. See my post #57.

I did find where Rick Perry said that W. was never a fiscal conservative.
Again, not the worst choice, but I think we have better..somewhere; surely? lol
If it’s RuPaul or Obama I think I’ll just pull the lever with my eyes closed and hope a giant fist comes out and punches me so hard I’m completely unconscious for the next four years.

Newt is the type who sees a wave and rides it, conservatism in the Reagan years, eco-nuttery in 2008, and now, progressive conservatism which I think I just coined. He is not sincere.

The libtards fear Newt more than any other candidate SO FAR
They certainly don’t fear “mitt” (in fact they WANT him)
A Newt candidacy would expose Obambi far worse than “mitt” because Newt is a brilliant debater, and he also BALANCED THE BUDGET when he was in Congress (at least started it)
The libtards are doing this to Newt becauase they dont realize how little we want him too. (Not after Scuzzafava) but he STILL is a more brilliant debater than any other candidate SO FAR. (maybe a Master Debater)
They are going all out to destroy him, and too many here are helping the liberal media do it.
I dont want him. I believe Palin/Bachman is an UNBEATABLE TICKET. But I believe he adds a much higher level to the level of debate we would get if only ‘mitt” is the frontrunner (Dear God: PLEASE, No.)
But I still see too many of us still falling for the liberal media slime tactics, and not SEEING IT
