SAN FRANCISCO — A proposal to ban the circumcision of male children in San Francisco has been cleared to appear on the November ballot, setting the stage for the nation’s first public vote on what has long been considered a private family matter.

But even in a city with a long-held reputation for pushing boundaries, the measure is drawing heavy fire.

Watching this play out will be interesting.

Jews, Mooslimbs and Christians joining forces to oppose this Moonbatery.

Speaking only for myself, I'm pleased with the fact that my parents had that little piece of skin snipped when a babe.

Of course as with many males, I've always joked the doc's hand slipped and he cut more than was necessary. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. lol

My brother was born w/o eyelids so the docs used his snipped foreskin to create artificial ones. He’s been cockeyed ever since.

Curious that the government needs to make a law over this...which the government is already showing that it won’t enforce the laws on the books already (the mere fact that this is a sanctuary city ought to make you laugh).

Best line in the comments:

"Yeah, circumcision's such a brutal practice. I had it done when I was two days old. Couldn't walk for almost a year..."

Hahaha...Well, I never thought about it. I just assumed it was standard operating procedure in the USA.
I do recall seeing maybe one kid in the school locker room
that must have not been cut.
Anyway, it never came up, as my first child is a daughter, now 28.

The issue now has come up for me, as I am the proud father of a 3 month old boy.
It is my understanding that here in the Philippines it is done at about six months.
I guess I have much to learn.

In other words,San Francisco is telling people what they can and can’t do with their bodies.

Ironic.

Very strange, as the non-circumsized are more likely to transmit AIDS. What are they trying to do?

It "comes up" with daughters in some barbaric cultures.

They won’t make the law retroactive, will they? I mean, will they require transplants?

The irony is in the difference between what these people advocate and what they claim to advocate. Their claims are to the contrary, but there is nothing open-minded, liberal, or free-thinking about these people. They confuse iconclasm with liberalism.
