I love that last photo. The profile looks like a cave painting. How big would say this one is?
I have had Rottweillers and Johnson Bulldogs that weighed 150 pounds and I can promise you that bear weighs more than they did/do
They are all headed to Oxford for cheerleader tryouts.
I saw several hogs near the Bonne Carre spillway after they opened it on my way to work one morning. Looks like a truck got a small one on the highway too.
nice photos - thanks!
Not just bears but news reports have included gators and snakes.
Concord, Mass., 20 miles west of Boston has had recent bear and bobcat (I personally saw one) sightings and moose occasionally come as close as Newton, about ten miles from Boston.
I wonder if bears become more dangerous if they are out of their element?
Love the pics...I live just north of this area, and have spent many Sunday afternoons “turnrow ridin’” in that area..One of the hardest parts of dealing with this “May Rise” is seeing the stress on our local wildlife.
Neat pics. We get lots of bears where I live - even here in town. A few months ago one took out one of our backyard birdfeeders.
The bear population has increased significantly over the past twenty years or so. Oh, not just here in NY, but in most states. I think a lot of people would be very surprised to know what wanders around in their towns at night.
I think that is one of the ones from our neck of the woods. According to my parents, who still live in MS, there are four that are tagged and maybe some others living in the area that are not.
Hey, I’ve actually been to both of those places. Had my pic taken on the lawn of the Sharkey County Courthouse (cause Muddy Waters was born there—not the courthouse, but the county).
