Shock after Dutch priest endorses pedophilia

AMSTERDAM (AP) - The Dutch Catholic Church and the Salesian order are investigating revelations that a Salesian priest served on the board of a group that promotes pedophilia with the full knowledge of his boss.

The order's top official in the Netherlands, Delegate Herman Spronck, confirmed in a statement that the priest - identified by RTL Nieuws as 73-year-old "Father Van B." - served on the board of "Martijn," a group that campaigns to end the Dutch ban on adult-child sex.

The group is widely reviled but not outlawed.

"Of course we reject this and distance ourselves from this personal initiative" on the part of the priest, Spronck said in a statement. "Membership in such organizations does not fit with the ethos of the Salesian order."

However, Spronck's own superior in Belgium said he will investigate both Spronck and Van B., after both men were quoted by RTL Nieuws as saying such relationships aren't always harmful.

___

"Society thinks these relationships are harmful. I disagree," RTL quoted Van B. as saying. He served on Martijn's board from 2008 until 2010, when its founder was arrested for alleged possession of child pornography, a case that is ongoing...

In a second interview, RTL quoted Spronck as saying he was aware of Van B.'s pedophilia and membership in Martijn, and even of two instances where the priest had been fined by police for exposing himself in public. But he said he didn't think that was sufficient reason to ban him from the order.

"Removing someone from the order is something you would only do in the case of grave moral transgression, such as rape. There was never any question of that," Spronck was quoted as saying.

It doesn’t take much to figure out the pattern of the madness. Besides making bestiality a norm they’ll be marrying human beings and animals in the not too distant future.

Who would have thought that in 1960 there would be homosexual marriage 40 to 50 years later?

You’ll see people marrying their cars, their pets, two guys and two girls marrying all of each other, humans marrying trees, and whatever relationship perversity you can think up it’s already in the works somewhere.

How about the creation of chimeras (human/animal hybrids)? How about humans having sex with them? How about state-sanctioned marriage? It’s coming down the pike.

And anyone who disagrees will be vilified by the Left and made an enemy of the state.

You really think this vile creature believes in God?

I agree with you Tribune. The man does not "John 3:16" in God.

Only a matter of time once the Left started down this path. First gay marriage, then polygamy and child sex.

But liberals keep saying, “Oh no, it’s not a slippery slope, these things aren’t related AT ALL...!”

When I read things like this I get a gut level reaction. One that says no intellectualizing, it’s time for a swift and primitive solution.

This is Holland. They have way different standards of decency than we espouse. Home of "involuntary euthanasia," after all.

Pedophilia is worse than bestiality.

One victimizes a helpless human child, the other a helpless animal. Both are disgusting, but the first is obviously worse.

That’s not pedophilia if the age is 12+. To be pedophilia the interest has to be in children below the age of puberty. There is a different term for people who like children past puberty but I can’t remember the term. However, what it really is gay men who like young boys, straight men who like young girls, lesbians who like young girls and straight women who like young boys. My guess is that the person involved liked young boys (80% of all the sexual abuse cases involved young boys and the majority of them were post pubescent.). The media loves to call all of this behavior pedophilia because the stats on real pedophilia show more straights are involved. That way they can bury that this is really something entirely different involving a media protected class of people.

I am well familiar with the MSM "splitting hairs" argument.

A prepubescent boy who is the subject of lust by a priest is a "condition" of "Ephebophilia", right? Not Pedophilia?

Except the age "definition" you listed of 12+ doesn't qualify. Wiki, for instance, defines it at age 15 and up.

Then, we can split this down into even sicker and more evil subgroups.

Infantophilia, or nepiophilia, is used to refer to a sexual preference for infants and toddlers (usually ages 0–3).[31] Pedophilia is used for individuals with a primary sexual interest in prepubescent children aged 13 or younger.[1]

All of it sin. All of it evil.

You want to know what I think of all these fancy classifications, sub classifications, and nuances?

They are a bunch of Horse $h^t.

No what these monsters want to call themselves, they are child molesters. Sexual predators. And God knows their sins.

Those priests are not pedophiles, they are predatory queers! They try to soften and confuse by using big words and terms to hide the obvious truth ... they are predatory queers!

member of an organization that (if it was active in the U.S.) would be grounds for the police and FBI to immediately arrest him and charge him.

NAMBLA is alive and well in the U.S.

One in three? I doubt that very seriously. My family lived close to the Parish when I was growing up, and we always had the Associate Pastors in and out of the house. As I grew up, I continued to have friends who were priests, and have lived in several different states, getting to know the priests in each place. My hubby's brother is a priest, and through him, I know quite a few priests. Out of all those priests, I've not known ONE priest who is homosexual, exhibited homosexual tendencies, or about whom anything was ever even suggested.

Yes, there are some, but I don't believe they are in as great numbers as have been suggested.

All that being said, these priests in the Salesian order in the Netherlands are NUTS! They are the result of liberal influence in their order, and the Church in Europe, for many years. Attitudes like this are the reason Pope Benedict stated as one of the issues he wants to address during his Papacy is the RE-evangelization of Europe.

What I don't get is this:

- The Pope claims to be the vicar of Christ on earth, the "holy father" (which is a name that scripture warns not call him), and the absolute head of the Catholic church in all authority

- The Pope even places himself and the church between God, holy scripture, and man. The Pope even made a recent speech about how individual passages of scripture cannot be expected to have meaning on their own, but have to be taken as part of a "greater" view of holistic meaning with.........the Catholic church as the middle man of what is truth

It is possible to perceive the Sacred Scriptures as the word of God" only by looking at the Bible as a whole, "a totality in which the individual elements enlighten each other and open the way to understanding," the pope wrote in a message to the Pontifical Biblical Commission. "It is not possible to apply the criterion of inspiration or of absolute truth in a mechanical way, extrapolating a single phrase or expression," the pope wrote in the message released May 5 at the Vatican.

- And after ALL of that, this "CEO" of the Catholic church cannot seem be able to muster either the authority, or the will....to fire and defrock homosexual priests?!!!!!?????!!!!!

What the heck is going on?

As I said, my suspicion is that there are so many homosexuals in the priesthood, that they cannot get rid of them all and still have many priests left. Moreover, I believe high ranking members of the Catholic church are, themselves, homosexual.

This is not a Catholic priest.

We have been informed many times on this forum that once a priest, always a priest and that personal sin in a priest's life does not affect his ability to administer sacraments.

Not only that, but until and unless the Catholic church defrocks and officially and publicly ex-communicates him, any Catholic who says anything about this entity not being a priest or having ex-communicated himself simply has no credibility.

If the RCC doesn't officially recognize the self-ex-communication, that person still can legitimately call themselves *Catholic* and nobody is under any obligation to believe that the person has ex-communicated himself with his behavior. If the church doesn't recognize it in the way they relate to the person, nobody else is obligated to either.

This is a devil from Hell masquerading as one. This man should be jailed. Were it up to me he’d be dead as Christ commanded those who would harm children.

I can certainly appreciate your sentiment.

FWIW, this is the worst possible thing to have happened PR wise in light of the fallout from the whole Catholic priest abuse scandal.

I don't think that the victims feel any different if it's called *ephebophilia* rather than *pedophilia*.

The only reason it is done is to make it seem less bad than it is.

That which we call a rose by any other name.......

The Pope might be the vicar of Christ on Earth, but he isn't Head of Human Resources for every Diocese. Each Bishop is responsible for the priests, and their activities, in his Diocese. It is the Bishop who would make the decision to de-frock any priest.

Sadly, in Europe, as in some American Dioceses, some of the Bishops who were young priests in the 60s and early 70s had been infected with the virus of liberalism and feminism, and made horrible decisions regarding their priests. Thankfully, near the end of his Papacy, Pope John Paul II appointed some younger Bishops who were not liberals like their older 'brothers'. And Pope Benedict seems to be following that trend.
