Confirmed: Jindal and Rubio NOT Natural Born Citizens

MIAMI, Fla. – Are U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal natural-born citizens of the United States, and thus eligible for the presidency?

It's a simple question, but the answer may not be so easy.

The next national election is less than 18 months away, and both rising Republican stars have been touted as potential contenders for either the No. 1 or No. 2 spot on a presidential ticket.

But their eligibility is in doubt since both men's parents were not U.S. citizens at the time their future political children were born, WND can reveal. That factor is important because the Constitution mandates a presidential candidate to be a "natural-born citizen," a requirement that has dogged President Barack Obama since the 2008 campaign.

With 2011 being the apparent year of the birth certificate, Jindal this month released a copy of his own birth record, indicating he was born on American soil – specifically, Baton Rouge, La. – to parents who were born in India.

Based on that disclosure, the New Orleans Times-Picayune newspaper declared him to be qualified for the White House, stating, "Piyush Jindal was born at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge, a natural-born U.S. citizen, who like every other child born in America, could, constitutionally, grow up to be president."

Kyle Plotkin, Jindal's press secretary, echoed that proclamation, telling WND, "The governor is obviously a natural-born citizen."

Meanwhile, Marco Rubio was born in Miami, Fla., on May 28, 1971, to Mario and Oriales Rubio who were born in Cuba, though the senator has not released his birth certificate for the world to scrutinize.

Was he born to two American citizen parents? Was he also a citizen at the time of Mitt’s birth?

Is that a requirement as originally conceived by the framers?

Yes.

If both men were born on US soil, and had their parents become naturalized citizens prior to their birth, would they then be considered natural born citizens?

“If anybody really cared about this, Barry0 would not be in office.”

BHO is a mistake that cannot be allowed to happen again. And with any luck he will be found guilty of fraud in hiding his ineligibility and will take up residence at Leavenworth Prison with his new cellmate Bubba.

FYI, six other presidents have had foreign-born parents. Andrew Jackson (1829-1837) is the only president born of two immigrants, both Irish. Presidents with one immigrant parent are Thomas Jefferson (1801-1809), whose mother was born in England, James Buchanan (1857-1861) and Chester Arthur (1881-1885), both of whom had Irish fathers, and Woodrow Wilson (1913-1921) and Herbert Hoover (1929-1933), whose mothers were born respectively in England and Canada.

My brother and I (he was killed on Okinawa) were born in the mid-west USA but our parents at the time were immigrants. As a child I once believed I could be POTUSA but learned this was not the case. I didn’t have trouble accepting the Constitutional fact my brother and I were just plain citizens and proud of that right. Some people are not born with the same rights and have to make the best of such.

Mitt Romney is not a natural born citizem.

Willard is not natural, period. He's synthesized. He thinks the presidency is a PowerPoint presentation. That's why he won't be President (not that he isn't 100% eligible to serve as President).

Be not brainwashed by the drooling birfers!

The same Amendment that makes the pizza man eligible (and I'll vote for him!) also makes you eligible!

Wong Kim Ark specifies the requisite terms for someone being a ‘native born citizen’, but says nothing about ‘natural born’ status, so I wonder why your reading is that it pertains?

Because it talks a LOT about “natural born subjects,” and by implication, the issue of natural born citizens.

The idea that both parents must have been born in the United States for an individual to be a natural born citizen means that several of our presidents would have been ineligible. Lincoln’s parents were born British subjects. Lincoln himself was not a citizen at the time the Constitution was ratified because he was not yet born, therefore, he is not covered by the grandfather clause. That clause doesn’t apply to parents, only to the person seeking the presidency. His parents were not “natural born citizens” under the definition circulating around here, therefore, Lincoln was not eligible under that definition. Obviously, that definition is absurd, and several Freepers have gone off the deep end on the issue.

Bringing this to the forefront might be a good way to shine the light on obama’s foreign born non-citizen daddy. Bet the rats would have a problem with Rubio fearing a significant loss of the Hispanic vote.

Whackjobs and Donks will make asses of themselves.

With that, cynwoody, you vilely mock fellow Freepers and the Founders and join Obama. Like you, Obama mocks his opponents.

Is that the kind of person you are?
