Confirmed: Jindal and Rubio NOT Natural Born Citizens

MIAMI, Fla. – Are U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal natural-born citizens of the United States, and thus eligible for the presidency?

It's a simple question, but the answer may not be so easy.

The next national election is less than 18 months away, and both rising Republican stars have been touted as potential contenders for either the No. 1 or No. 2 spot on a presidential ticket.

But their eligibility is in doubt since both men's parents were not U.S. citizens at the time their future political children were born, WND can reveal. That factor is important because the Constitution mandates a presidential candidate to be a "natural-born citizen," a requirement that has dogged President Barack Obama since the 2008 campaign.

With 2011 being the apparent year of the birth certificate, Jindal this month released a copy of his own birth record, indicating he was born on American soil – specifically, Baton Rouge, La. – to parents who were born in India.

Based on that disclosure, the New Orleans Times-Picayune newspaper declared him to be qualified for the White House, stating, "Piyush Jindal was born at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge, a natural-born U.S. citizen, who like every other child born in America, could, constitutionally, grow up to be president."

Kyle Plotkin, Jindal's press secretary, echoed that proclamation, telling WND, "The governor is obviously a natural-born citizen."

Meanwhile, Marco Rubio was born in Miami, Fla., on May 28, 1971, to Mario and Oriales Rubio who were born in Cuba, though the senator has not released his birth certificate for the world to scrutinize.

And they both think they are!

What will the Repubs do now? What will the Dems do?

FYI There is a 5 to 10 day period that ANYBODY can file a challenge (petition) to a candidate's qualifications after the "qualifying" deadline. No standing required. Every State is different. It is not too early to check the laws in your State and your States Constitution. Just google, search "your state name" code and a searchable code will come up. Look for, contest or challenge candidate qualifications. If want to challenge Obama you will need to be sure of what you need to do because he will not be in a primary.

It looks like it will be the American people v the courts, the media and the two political parties.

None have expressed interest in running for president so it doesn’t matter.

Both were born in the US. Their parents were not citizens at the time of birth.

If the article is true, neither qualify for the presidency.

Both parents MUST be born in the USA.

If you define a natural born citizen as the framers originally meant it, then BOTH parents must be citizens AT THE TIME OF YOUR BIRTH in addition to the requirement that you must be born on American soil.

If this is so, Jindal, Rubio AND Obama are NOT natural born citizens ( yep, even with Obama’s Birth Certificate).

RE: Both parents MUST be born in the USA.

Actually both parents must be citizens at the time of one’s birth for one to be natural born.

If anybody really cared about this, Barry0 would not be in office.

The constitution no longer applies.

First off, Rubio is a Open border Amnesty type,Who would want that? Jindal, I do not see him drawing the votes necessary to win.

If they are NOT natural born citizens, that means they qualify!

If the article is true, neither qualify for the presidency. Both parents MUST be born in the USA. Both of Obama's parents weren't born in the US. Both of them weren't even citizens. Congress declared Obama to be elected president. I'd like to see Rubio run just to dare a court to rule him ineligible, and thus exposing how Congress shredded the US Constitution when they declared electoral votes for Obama to be valid.

RE: Yes and you have to be a landowning male as well

Is that a requirement as originally conceived by the framers?

So now "natural-born citizen" means that, not only the citizen, but also his parents, must be born in the US?

That's a new one; previously it had only been claimed that the candidate's parents had to be citizens at the time of his birth, not that they also had to be born in the US.

I've yet to see any evidence that the *law* -- not the Framers' intentions, or books they may have read and cited approvingly, etc. -- but the *law*, as it currently stands, recognizes three classes of American citizens (natural-born and eligible for the Presidency, born in this country of non-citizen parents and ineligible for the Presidency, but a citizen from birth, and naturalized citizens). The law only knows about natural-born citizens and naturalized ones.

Both Rubio and Jindal are citizens from birth.
