This low GOP turn out was all about Bonehead , Cantor and company betraying us.
She lives outside the district she will represent. There's nothing wrong with that, legally -- a Congresscritter must live in the state he or she represents, but need not live in the district.
However, living outside the district tends to hurt one at the polls. In this case, apparently, not so much.
This was one of the ugliest campaigns I’ve seen in a long time - and there have been a lot of ugly ones here. We were inundated by robocalls so much that we had to take the phone off the hook. Most of them were GOP and I was so mad that I refused to vote for their candidate on the R line and had to vote for her elsewhere. Distorted ads, lies. Awful. I am sick of it. /rant
No Jack Davis divided the vote taking 8% from the republican camp.

When I saw the Town hall meeting clips with the angry questions (prepared with dem talking points) and the weak/unprepared responses by Republicans I knew the bill was in serious trouble. I just saw this today.
In 2010, the base came out to stop Obamacare and the out of control spending and stop the Obama agenda.
Bonehead wimped out and let the outrageous Pelosi budget that funds Obamacare for years to come to get passed rather than FIGHT.
Bonehead awful leadership killed the GOP turnout.
When the huge Baby Boomer generation are all retired, they will vote in 110% taxes on everyone who still has a job if that's what it takes to keep the gravy train running.
National Tea Party was here campaigning for Corwin. Everyone knew Davis was fake. I think people were bummed by the Robocalls the republicans inundated us with. They were really disgusting ads and we got so many that we took the phone off the hook. It made me not even want to vote, but I held my nose and did my part.
The fact that a TEA Party candidate saw a need to run suggests that Corwin wasn't the most conservative card in the pack. Maybe if NY Repubs would run REAL Republicans, they'd win.
Voters must not be paying attention there to fall for Jack Davis’ ploy to drain votes from the republican. i hear he is a democrat and intentionally ran as a tea party candidate to do precisely what he did, take the win away from the gop.
Too bad voters are so easily manipulated.

It seems more than a bit asinine for us (those of us that are not Democrats or leftists) to be running against ourselves. But apparently, that’s just us all over.
This is sickening.
I don’t think this was all about the Ryan budget.
If it was the dems would have done much better. They basically did a good job of getting their 2010 voters back out but they didn’t add to the total.
You’d expect they’d add a bunch of voters.
Instead, a bunch of GOP voters stayed home, but there’s no evidence they switched to the dems.
Would really help if there was an exit poll here.
And who knows how much the scandal hurt things here?
But, to lose a district that went GOP 75-25 6 months ago and has been historically GOP for a long time, is not a good sign. Fortunately it’s early enough that there’s plenty of time before Nov 12. We can learn from this and adapt.
That is just plain silly! If you don’t believe in the Tea Party’s platform, that is okay, but to attempt to blame them for this loss is just idiotic.
Either the Tea Party ideals eventually win or we as a country fail. You can continue your tantrum or think of the future and join the eventual winners - as must happen or all is lost anyway.
Oh BS. The TEA Party candidate (Davis) has run repeatedly as a Democrat and is an uber liberal on almost every issue. There was not a thing wrong with Corwin, and the fact that Bellavia, the candidate many TEA Party folks preferred, went on to endorse an obvious lefty shows the NY GOP nominated the right person. The majority of TEA Party organizations supported Corwin, not Davis.
We are going to lose from now till eternity if Republicans, movement conservatives and TEA Party supports split their vote in general elections. The time to lobby for the candidate you prefer is in the primary. In NY 26 there wasn't time for one, but based on Bellavia's reprehensible actions it is clear the Republicans were right to pass him by.
Why the hell can’t we do the same thing then? Play the same game the Dems play, or better yet, beat them at their own game. And if nothing else, expose them whenever they pull this crap of “pretending” to be a conservative candidate.
I am so fed up with the whole damned situation I could scream.
