“Calling these people the Progressive Republican that they are is much more damaging than epithet of RINO. It more effectively shows their political mindset.”
I agree. I’ve never much liked the term republican in name only, because it implies that the cowardly, socialism-lite antics of the gop is anything other than business as usual.

Being from KY I am disappointed that Mitch was just re-elected in 2008
To: Bokababe
Mitch McC has long outlived his usefulness to the uninformed of KY.
To: Recovering Ex-hippie
Mitch McC never said he was a conservative in 1984, when he was elected. He said he was a John Sherman Cooper Republican, and that is not conservative.
To: AAABEST
People in KY are as uninformed about Mitch McC as the NV geniuses are about Reid.
To: specsaregood
I take it that means Kentucky’s CCDW records (like mine) which are supposed to be out of the reach of the federal government.
More proof that the so called “Patriot Act” is designed to keep law abiding Americans in line, not foreign terrorists.
Duh, what a surprise.
When the feds institute a suspension of civil liberties (those that we still have left), the CCW & CCDW records will be where they look to get the names for the first step in gun confiscation. Bet on it.
They don’t need no stinkin’ warrant..............

Agreed. Warrantless wiretapping and unfettered business record gathering of people unconnected to terrorists is outrageously broad power to give to the government.

Thnx RKBA.
Preppiesm and about as useful.
Thnx for commenting, Two.
If you don't like it then don't use it is all I can suggest.
Between myself and those who have commented so far you're in the minority.

From GOA:
Without Pauls exemption, it is possible that the BATFE could go to a secret (FISA) court, and, in a one-party (ex parte) proceeding, obtain an order to produce every 4473 in the country...the government would have a list of every gun buyer in the country going back decades.

I think you mis-understood my post. When I was young there were preppies. Put their Polo collars up and thought they were hot stuff. I’m just saying like progessive republicans. Preppies. Like Rinos. Get it?

Address of the Minority of the Pennsylvania Convention (1787):
That the people have a right to bear arms FOR THE DEFENCE OF THEMSELVES and their own state, or the United States, or for the purpose of killing game; and no law shall be passed for disarming the people or any of them, unless for crimes committed, or real danger of public injury from individuals ...(emph. mine)

“A government that is unwilling to fight a war to victory overseas (and I include Bush as well as Obama here) has NO justification to demand war powers at home.”
What a great quote! I’m going to steal that for use on my profile page (with attribution, of course).
