The Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) has found a new group of people to rally against. The Kansas church, most infamous for its hatred of homosexuals, posted a document last Monday on its website celebrating the deaths of the Joplin, Missouri tornado victims.
“Thank God for 89 dead & counting in Joplin, Mo & 1 dead in Reading, KS!” the document declared in capital letters. “God’s whirlwind is pounding the enemies of Christ! WBC will picket your raging blasphemous stinky memorials!”

I can’t believe this isn’t satire.
They’re a cult that claims to base itself on the Old Testament rather than on the gospels.
It is rarely noted that phelps is a lifelong democrat and ran for public office as a democrat.
No! They are for real.There are nut cases in everywalk of life.
If this is a small church of 50-75 people, how are they affording all these protests? Travel and motel expenses, professional signs and such are not cheap. I have been in several small churches in my day, but none could afford what these nutz are doing. Did Soros give them a few 100 thousand? The old saying “follow the money” will reveal hidden players, I’m sure. Some kind of America haters are behind these nutz.
I would not mock, I would hope that I would have the courage and opportunity to give them the gospel of Jesus Christ. These are lost souls that have fallen for a false presentation of the gospel of Christ. But that is just me.

They are. The release we got at the office this morning thanks God for 125 dead in Joplin and 13 more in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas.
Those nut cases also accuse Missourians of having sex with animals, call them "evil beasts," and punctuate the release with, "GOD H8S MISSOURI!"
The release is deranged and disturbing even by the usual repulsive WBC standards.

The Phelps clan are bunch of lawyers who sue anyone that tries to stop them, that is how they get their financing.
There’s a point where sweet talk is wasted. WBC is about a million miles past that point.
A number of them are lawyers; they get their money by suing small towns that don’t protect their “freedom of speech.”

My understanding is that most denomination names are “trademarked” and their use can be controlled. But “Baptist” is not trademarked and can be used by anyone.
Anyone who can explain the legal situation better feel free to jump in.
It will be nice when WBC are wasists, as in having ceased to exist.
