Oath Keepers to Protest Killing of Jose Guerena(AZ)

Via Radley Balko, the Oath Keepers – a group of law enforcement officials who have taken an oath to only follow constitutional orders – are planning a memorial rally on May 30th for slain ex-marine Jose Guerena. Guerena was killed by a SWAT team in Arizona earlier this month, while his wife and four-year-old son hid in the house. You can read more about Guerena’s killing here. The Oath Keepers have this to say on their home page:

"He died with his safety still on. He didn’t fire a shot. The Pima County, Arizona (Sheriff Dupnik’s department), SWAT Team fired 71 rounds at him, hitting him with approximately 60 rounds. He had no criminal record. The only justification given by the Sheriff’s spokesman for using SWAT to serve the warrant was that it was a search warrant in a narcotics conspiracy investigation (with three other homes searched in the same neighborhood), and that this is their policy when the home-owner may be armed

This policy of using SWAT to serve mere search warrants on people with no violent criminal history will lead to more deaths of veterans and other trained American gun owners because a trained man will react precisely the same way this young Marine did.

We must take a stand on this use of SWAT against gun owners and veterans who have no violent crime history, and that stand needs to be a firm one.

Therefore, we are going to rally in Tucson this coming Memorial Day, May 30, 2011 to honor this young Marine’s service and to express our opposition to the destruction of our liberty, and our opposition to this policy of using SWAT Teams to serve mere search warrants on gun owners and veterans who have no violent criminal record."

If the police can break into your home with little warning, in an area known to have multiple home invasions by criminals disguised as police, then shoot you because you point a gun at what are apparently violent home invaders, you have lost your right to defend your home with armed force.

Ironically, the police say that the purpose of the raid was to invistigage a violent gang of home invaders that disguised themselves as police.

Great!
Thank you Oath Keepers.

Now that the Cartels themselves are wearing police uniforms regularly, it is going to be a dangerous situation all around. Good cops, bad cops, good civilians, bad civilians, all are going to get killed because of these “no knock” warrants, and the new “if a cop is suspicious, he doesn’t need a warrant” rules.

If the police ever want to question me, arrest me, they can drop me an email or a phone call, and I’ll go turn myself in. Violence will be met with violence.

And of course 0bama and his co-conspirators like it that way.

If it turns out that Jose Guerena was involved in the crime ring under investigation, they are going to look bad.

“If it turns out that Jose Guerena was involved in the crime ring under investigation, they are going to look bad.”

Not really. Whatever he was, the attack was not an attempt to make an arrest. It was a hit.

In addition to looking bad, they’ll be in denial.

Well, this will be the picture presented. Any group that will conduct this kind of banana republic style assassination, will also tamper with or plant evidence, or lie.

They’ll also be inventing conspiracy theories.

Not necessary, although there will be reasonable speculation as to why this victim was singled out.

Most SWAT teams in America are a waste of money. They are just a collection of cops (many in low crime communities) who are bored to death. So they take tons of federal grant funds to buy assault rifles and other toys. But, even with all the cool stuff they are still bored to death. This causes them to get into messes like the Tucson shooting. We don’t need SWAT teams. Period.

Exactly. They let the man lay there for over an hour refusing to let the EMT’s near him to make sure he was dead so he wouldn’t live to tell his story. They let a 4 year old child stumble around inside the house with the dead or dying father laying there while they physically assaulted the wife then interrogated her while her husband lay in the house dying. If you read this scenario without knowing it was the USA you would think of Russia wouldn’t you?

I repeat what I said yesterday. This SWAT escalation is just practice for Martial law and door to door gun confiscation.

A veteran co-worker of mine enlightened my on the original purpose officers were issued pistols in warfare, and it’s not what is normally portrayed on movies and TV.

The pistol was there to make sure the troops did not run in the wrong direction when advancing in battle, if you know what I mean.

If it turns out that Jose Guerena was involved in the crime ring under investigation, they are going to look bad.

As Sheriff Dupnik has lied before about events in his county I'm sure it will be nothing to him to ensure enough evidence is fabricated against Guerena to prove he was part of a "crime ring".

If it turns out that Jose Guerena was involved in the crime ring under investigation, they are going to look bad.

And if it turns out that the PCSD operated out of bad faith or reckless disregard or abandonment what will they look like?!

As Sheriff Dupnik has lied before about events in his county ...

The same Sheriff Dupnik that opened his mouth to blame the Gifford's shooting on right wing extremists.
