The actual news from the latest Gallup poll isnt that veterans and active-duty military give Barack Obama a lower approval rating. Its that Obamas barely drafting a majority among civilians in his best age demographics. Thats bad news for the President given that younger voters notoriously turn out less in national elections:
U.S. military veterans and those currently on active military duty are less likely to approve of President Obamas job performance than are Americans of comparable ages who are not in the military.
Thirty-seven percent of all active-duty military personnel and veterans surveyed approved of the job Obama is doing during the January 2010 to April 2011 time frame. That compares with 48% of nonveterans interviewed during the same period.
Obamas approval rating varies by age, with younger Americans in general most likely to approve and older Americans least likely. The gap in approval between veterans/active duty military and nonveterans persists across the age spectrum, from 18- to 29-year-olds to those 80 and older.
First, these approval ratings might not even be all that current. The survey took 238,000 responses from a time period that stretched 16 months. Obamas approval rating in January 2010 was significantly higher in Gallups polling (51/43) than it was in April 2011 (44/47). The results of this analysis have been stretched out too far to make it an accurate reflection of reality today for that reason, as well as the fact that it doesnt include any responses after the death of Osama bin Laden, which might have pushed some of the veteran/active duty responses a bit upward.
Putting those issues aside, the age demographic breakdown does show an interesting pattern. As respondents get older, the difference between service and civilians narrows considerably. It starts at 14 points among 18-29YOs, and narrows to six points for 50-59YOs before going back to ten points among 60-69YOs. Unfortunately for Obama, he only gets majority approval from civilians in the first two age categories, and not spectacular approval at that 58% among 18-29YOs and 51% for 30-39YOs. Given that younger voters provided all of the enthusiasm for his first campaign, these are tepid numbers for an incumbent that now has to run on a disastrous economic record that only seems to be getting worse this year.
With you all the way, brother!
Like anybody with half a brain wouldn’t know the results of this kind of poll going in.
It’s not possible to rate him lower than THIS civilian does.
“What are we so worried about? Let’s get the most conservative two people we can find and run them!! “

I can hear heads exploding already!!!
37& in military approve of this socialist thug?
The fact it is that high in military is disapointing.
What about the TIME Magazine article that claimed that Obama had a stronger relationship with the military than President George W. Bush? Is this article false?
“37% in military approve of this socialist thug?”
This is why it’s gong to be close in 2012. Barry is guaranteed about 40% of the vote regardless of what he does.
My cuz serves in Sokor and when the entire camp heard a year ago that Odumbo was “thinking” of visiting Red Cloud, the entire hall uttered “F***”. Believe me, they damn hate the guy. There was a reason why there was only ONE to 4 photographs by the AP once O visited the troops after the OBL kill and only the DEm soldiers wanted in the pics.
Even more telling, considering the disproportionate number of minorities in the military, past and present
The only military people that think obama is doing a good job are political officers and remfs.
Hence, Oath Keepers.
Agreed. My bet is that any Republican with a pulse beats Barry in 2012. Its probably going to be a runaway landslide with $5 gas and 10% unemployment. Not to mention how much worse the inflation will be by then.
Any Republican who wants to take it to Barry on the campaign trail and can manage to avoid getting caught in the closet with a dog will probably be the new President.
At this point even though I am leaning heavily toward Cain or Bachmann I would vote for any GOP nominee and glad to do it.
I think we all believe that Obama has designs for declaring himself President for life.

CRC is my old duty station from when it was I Corps (ROK/US) Group headquarters back in the old days. I ran the hot line (G-2 DMZ early warning) desk in the old bunker, along with my ROK and American buddies. Back then we were commanded by a 3 star, with ROK and US officers in every other spot.
(From Military.com)
U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates, has long avoided using reductions in military pay and active duty benefits to reduce costs. However pressure from the White House to make $400B in cuts may have forced Gates' hand. In the past Sec. Gates has sought to squeeze the excess cost from TRICARE, by asking to increase annual premiums and fees for military retirees and to tax their employers if retirees opt out of employer provided health care. Although unwilling to say where these compensation cuts may occur, the fact is Gates has now put military pay on the table.
Obama, is this any way to support the troops that are sacrificing everything for the country. By cutting their pay? You are not only the worst President in the country's history, you're also the worst commander-in-chief ever.
