Thank you for your most, Thackney.

I have said repeatedly that I will do that. Most recently from item #54: “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — if the rules here require posting full-text articles rather than excerpts, I’ll do that. However, that’s not the only issue.”

For some reason, saying that over and over and over again doesn’t seem to work.

How many times do I have to say that?

There’s another issue, however. I read the two items by Free Republic owner Jim Robinson from December 2010 and the Admin Moderator from May 2011. I also read about 800 comments on the December piece and about a hundred comments on the May piece. It took me several hours to get through all that, and it appears there are at least two more issues, possibly more than that, that I should address before posting again. I’ve sent private emails on those issues and don’t plan to post any more articles until I know for sure what the rules are so I don’t get into trouble again.

I’m not a novice to website discussion boards or to website moderation. I realize it’s a very difficult job, and it is close to the least favorite job I have to do in my own work. I have zero desire to make things more difficult for the administrators here, or to create an unnecessary controversy in this community.

TYPO — “Thank you for your POST, Thackney,” not “most”

And they would be.....?

"He was driven insane and vanquished by the Blogger Overlord."

And thus shall be the fate of all using three names, the middle one being "Todd." As it has been foretold.

Shibumi, those questions have been asked in a private email.

What I need is clarification on the intent of the website owner and administrators about two, possibly three things that came up during the big uproar in December and then the discussion in May. I see no need to speculate myself or encourage others to speculate by asking questions in public when I can ask those questions directly.

Shibumi, as the admins wrote back in the posts you yourself sent to me as links: “As always, it is best to just ask. We can’t answer every note that comes in just because we can get overwhelmed, but we do try. We hope that answers some questions.”

I follow rules once I know what they are. When I don’t know, I ask the people who do know or who can make a decision if one hasn’t yet been made. I think that’s reasonable for people to expect that I do.

What about community preferences and guidelines? Must there be a written rule?

There isn't a rule about wearing ass-dragging pants but decent folks know it's trashy.

Perhaps we have finally found sommething on which I can wholeheartedy and enthusiastically agree with you!

As a police chief around here told me, the only good thing about that kind of pants is that it’s easier to catch people wearing them when they try to run away.

Further, you’ll get no disagreement from me on the importance of following the spirit of the law, not just the letter.

To all: Can we please drop this? It’s gotten to the point that I’m keeping a Free Republic web window open and clicking refresh regularly to see what is being said on this subject. That would be fine if this discussion were about something important, but this discussion is not helping anybody here and we all have better things to do.

I agreed **LONG** ago, once I got sent the weblinks from the Free Republic owner and moderators, that if Free Republic’s rule is to post full-text articles rather than excerpts with weblinks, I would follow that rule. Posting full-text articles wouldn’t even be permitted on most comparable message boards with which I am familiar, let alone required, but I said long ago that if that’s what the rules say, then the rules will be followed.

For some reason saying that over and over and over again isn’t getting through.

And he kept spelling "Houston" wrong, too.

Supremely annoying. ;-)

Do you think King Solomon would rule that he must be split into three pieces?

I think the first thing ol' Sol would do is to have him disarmed and thrown off the bridge!

Post full articles and you will be perceived as a contributor. Post partial articles and you will be perceived as a user.

Any questions?

Any questions? Yeah, I guess I’ve got one — not really for you, Larry, but for some of the other people on this thread.

How many times do I have to say “yes”?

This is getting tiresome. I’ve said over and over and over again that if posting full-text articles is what the rules require, that’s fine.

I have sent private emails to make sure I understand the rules on some other issues. I have no problem with following the rules once I know what they are.

All of us have better things to do than what we are doing here. Please — if people want to argue or complain, find somebody who actually disagrees with you on politics or who won’t follow rules. That’s not me.

I’ve said over and over and over again that if posting full-text articles is what the rules require, that’s fine.

You keep referencing "rules", wanting to see them in a manual.

How about just posting the full content?

Bloody simple, isn't it?

You claim to have read statements from both Jim & the Mods.

They are quite clear.

So what seems to be the problem, spunky?

Humblegunner, there is no problem on the issue of posting full text of articles. Once I read the links last night that I got sent, that was settled. You won’t see any more excerpted articles. Done. Over. End of issue. They violate the rules, and you won’t see them again from me. I’ve been saying that now repeatedly.

What’s frustrating to me is that some (not all, but some) of you guys keep bringing this up over and over again as if I somehow disagree.

Again... if you want an argument, please find somebody you actually disagree with to argue with. We have no disagreement here. This is not helping you, me or anybody else.

I miss the pre-cancerous polyp that was removed from my colon about twenty years ago.

I have no problem with your postings. I find the IED research at Ft. Wood to be of great interest to those of us who have (and had) loved ones deployed forward.
