Don't Support Palin for 2012 (ZOT!)

Posted on 06/02/2011 12:31:59 PM PDT by Conservative Coulter Fan

I know I’m going to garner a lot of bitter reactions, but I just have to question this devotion to Sarah Palin as our candidate for 2012. Am I the only one that thinks conservatives are falling into the whole cult of personality with regard to Sarah Palin much the same way the Left did with Obama? I’m not comfortable with her just bailing on Alaska, she’s the one that allowed Levi Johnston to knock up her daughter, and I don’t want a reality TV. candidate - I want a serious conservative thinker with the stomach for policy. I’d much rather have Michele Bachmann or Herman Cain. Anyhow, that’s just my opinion. Let the hate begin..

It goes without saying that you have the right to choose who you support. However, you do need schooling with respect to some statements you have made here. First, and most important, Palin didn't "bail" on Alaska. She took the only proper course of action given all the frivalous ethics complaints filed against her after the 2008 election. As has been pointed out innumorous times, all those complaints were a serious drain on the resources of the state of Alaska, and impeded the legislature from being able to properly conduct state business.

Second, your comment regarding Levi being "allowed" to knock up Bristol is completely inappropriate. At that point in time Bristol and Levi were engaged to be married. Are you saying, were you in that same situation, you would have booted the father of your grandchild out? Is that even a choice you could have made?

You want a serious thinker as a candidate? What is Bachmann's resume? Cain's? Compared their resume's to Palin's and then tell me who is a serious thinker. Which of these three candidates was able to take on the good ol boy network and take them down? It wasn't Bachmann or Cain.

No but you are.

Saying “he supported TARP” doesn’t give the same impression as “he supported the initial idea but didn’t like it when it was done”.

You’re intentionally being misleading and you know it.

“Too big to fail” had nothing to do with TARP I.

Well Mr. Capitalist, the world's preeminent authority on the Great Depression (his doctoral thesis was on it and is recognized as a definitive analysis of it), said that actions taken thus far to prop up the nation's largest banks have been extremely unpleasant, but necessary to preventing further harm across financial markets and the broader economy. (Fed Chair code words of financial Armageddon if not done).

Exhibits A & B to his theory that further dominoes and great depression would ensue if the actions were not taken: Bear Stearns, Lehman Bros.

... and you are a classic LRON cultist in disguise.

‘You betcha’ you are not the only one who thinks Sarah is like bad reality tv. The more I see of her, the less I see in her.

She has all the right positions on issues important to me, but she can’t articulate them in anything other than 15 second sound bites. She is as pitiful extemporaneous speaker as Obama, everything she does is as scripted as ‘The One’.

This current bus tour is a massive ego stroke, imho, she has nothing to say but sound bites. I love Greta, but sycophant right wing media is as pathetic as the sycophants in the MSM who cover Barry.

Sarah is about as genuine as a three dollar bill. Genuine is somebody like Paul Ryan. We need a candidate that will not whore out to special interests to get the job, one who will tell the truth to the American people, and one who is decisive and a leader. Palin can’t even follow a schedule, and is not disciplined enough to be POTUS>

The big deal is her record in Alaska and the fact that she scares the establishment on both sides. Thats very telling. That indicates they know she is not one of them and will not become DC-ed when she gets there. They have a need to attempt to destroy anyone who they believe will mess up their happy home. Just hope we get her there before they destroy the nation.

I agree, it is out of line. Good families often have kids that take their pants off in lust...things DO happen even in the best families.

“About her leaving her job as governor, she wasn't’t able to govern because the MSM and liberals were constantly suing her and hounding her, she did the state of Alaska a favor.”

I agree, but the MSM and the Dems will use this against her as being weak. They are going to say she is going to get a lot of hounding and suing from the MSM and the liberals as President so is she going to quit?

If the Republican establishment is able to force another Faux Conservative as the nominee, there will be a strong Third Party candidate, which is likely where I would wind up. Could a Third Party candidate win? Odds are against it, but if I'm going to die in a battle, at least let it be a battle for a cause I support.

she’s the one that allowed Levi Johnston to knock up her daughter

Reminds me of a story my mom tells, when she was a teenager in the 1950's, there was an widow women with a teenage daughter that lived on the same street. This mother was strict even for that day and age, she wouldn't let her daughter date or even be alone with boys. Well finally the girl pleaded with her mother enough that she gave in and began allowing a boy the daughter was fond of to come for dinner. The mother still would not allow them out of her site, they could eat dinner together and then they could sit out on the porch swing under the mothers watchful eye. Well, a couple months later the daughter ends up pregnant. The flabbergasted mother confronted her not understanding how it could have happened. The daughter responded, "Mother remember that evening the stew made you ill and you had to keep running to the outhouse? Well..."

The moral of the story is, if two teens are determined to tango, they ARE going to find a way regardless of whatever roadblocks parents put up.

My opinion of her has actually gone up since she started this bus tour. Although, honestly, as a member of the “choir,” that’s more because I’m enjoying the MBM flailing around wondering why she’s not meekly worshipping at their feet as they kick her and spit on her.

Really, how many *conservatives* nowadays have the guts to tell conservatives what we want to hear? How many Republicans in government do that? Not many. And one of the reasons I do like Palin (also Cain) is that I really believe she’s not just saying what we want to hear, she’s saying what she believes. She’s not pandering. Neither is Herman Cain. That’s why they’re my two favorites right now.

Yeah, there’s a bit of Sarah worship going on. Maybe it’s chivalry, maybe it’s drooling because she’s good-looking, maybe it’s genuine respect for watching her catch three years of hell and not let it affect her. Or, maybe people see someone who really is what she says on the tin—pro-life, conservative, pro-American, and not one bit afraid to stand up and shout it.

You are right on the idea, wrong on some of the reasons. Resigning from governorship and doing reality TV - yes, pregnant daughter - no.

People here don’t understand the vanity of the so-called Independent voter and will accuse you of being a dem operative if you point it out. 58% of them say they will never vote for Palin, and unfortunately, their votes are the deciding votes every election.
