Oprah Winfrey's six-month-old network OWN was down 24 percent in adult viewership in May, compared to the May 2010 ratings of Discovery Health, which OWN replaced, according to TVbytheNumbers.
Its numbers were down in demographics versus Discovery Health's May '10 ratings across the board. In women 18-34, the drop was 24 percent. For women 18-49, it was 19 percent. In women 24-54, likely its target demo, it was down 17 percent. And in adults 18-49, it was down a whopping 30 percent.

I can’t help. Mercifully, my cable provider doesn’t provide OWN at my level of service. Even if it did, I’d probably do something more interesting than watch it — like maybe watch paint dry.
I have wondered since the first time I came across that channel, why in the world are those shows on tv?

I’ve never spent one nanosecond watching The Oprah. Yesterday, I was stuck in a doctor’s office, waiting for my wife. The waiting room was almost all female. “Ellen” was on. I have no problem with her, but I was shocked at the morons in the studio audience. Now I know where they tape laugh tracks. The morons absolutely squealed with delight when Ellen smiled. You’d have thought that she’d just given birth to a panda the way they carried on.
Well, let me see if I have a place on my "To-Do List where I can squeeze that in......

It’s a horrid little network. They don’t have even one show I would watch. And for this, they took away the channel that carried Dr. G. I have complained about the lowered quality to my satellite company, but I doubt it will make any difference. I look forward to its eventual demise.
