Obama's Mounting Media Manipulation
american thinker ^ | 6/4/11 | Edward Olshaker

Continuing a pattern of punishing unsupportive media that began during the 2008 campaign, the Obama Administration recently banned a Boston Herald reporter from the media pool covering a presidential visit as apparent retaliation for running an op-ed by Mitt Romney.

The explanation by the White House Press Office's Matt Lehrich only served to make the administration sound more petty and dictatorial. He wrote to the Herald, "My point about the op-ed was not that you ran it but that it was the full front page..."

This follows a string of similar incidents in recent days -- the banning of a San Francisco Chronicle reporter after the paper published a video of an anti-Obama protest; the successful pressuring of a Pleasanton, California newspaper to remove part of what it wrote about the First Lady; and Vice President Biden's staff once again denying a reporter access by forcing him to sit in a closet.

This policy of suppressing speech and cutting off media access began during the 2008 campaign when, as punishment for asking unfriendly questions to Joe Biden, television stations WFTV in Orlando and CBS3 in Philadelphia were denied future access.

Even more troubling, when a Chicago radio show invited the National Review's Stanley Kurtz to discuss his investigation into Obama's radical past and offered the Obama team airtime to rebut, the campaign chose instead to encourage supporters to bombard the station with demands to keep Kurtz off the air; and later did the same to author David Freddoso, as Anat Hakim reported in American Thinker at the time. The campaign also demanded the Justice Department intervene to stop campaign ads that mentioned his political alliance with terrorist Bill Ayers.

Gosh, that job must take at least 20 or 30 minutes a month.

Yeah, but Palin makes them pee on the side of the road, and drive dangerously.

What is becoming clear is that combatting 0bama is going to have be a very direct, gloves off, in your face affair. I have little doubt this will be by far the most vicious campaign in recent memory; the point being, it’s nothing to shrink from. This president has a s**tload of non-performance and flat-out failed goofballism to answer for, and as long as his high-falootin’ BS is the topic matter instead of the steaming pile of actual, real-world misery he and his policies are inflicting upon the middle class, he gets a pass. By no means does he deserve it. He’s never been held to account in anything he’s ever done. It’s not just that he’s never run a business; he’s never been NOT graded on the curve.

More evidence that Obummer is the stupidest President we have ever had. Picking fights with the media as the economy and the so called Arab Spring goes down the toilet. There is an election coming up and this toad needs all the propping up he can get yet the dopes in the WH are going to pull this on their own supporters. Ridiculous.

Obama is the Affirmative Action President.

And he's doing a jolly good job of proving why Affirmative Action is a bad idea.

He’s a petty totalitarian creep. I might be naive,,,, but i think all these stunts will come back to haunt him as they cover his next campaign.
They loved him, and expected hinm to love them back. He doesn’t, and they know it. Deep inside, they know it.

Good campaign slogan in here.

Throw in Goebbels too.

He thinks he can control how people think. Sad thing is how ignorant so many people are (useful idiots) and they can be programed.

Control the images and the stories....that is what the marxists have been doing since the 30’s up until Rush Limbaugh broke through the gulag. They have been trying to get control over talk radio and now the internet.

Can’t have truth get out.....truth is soooo dangerous for these evil people.

‘Mounting media manipulation?’ Why Obama himself is constructed entirely out of media manipulation - how could it be increasing?

Obama is much to "personal" to be a good President. A good President would be statesmanlike and just move on with some humility like "I'll do better."

Of course Obama cannot "do better". He is a make believe president....perhaps an insert into someone else's life. Ask yourself....what is the proof that Obama actually is Obama?

Answer: There is no proof....nothing. He really is an artificial creation of a couple books that do match the few facts we really know.

You know who you are and your circle of friends and acquaintenances in life also know who you are. This gives you a self-concept. Does Obama have a self-concept? If he does it seems petty, vindictive, and certainly not knowledgable of US laws and how the US presidency is supposed to work. He is a cardboard cutout. Question is, "From where?"

What is becoming clear is that combatting 0bama is going to have be a very direct, gloves off, in your face affair.

I agree - he's vicious and everyone around him is vicious.

That said, this is going to be doubly hard simply because any opposition will not be reported. The media's chief technique is not to report or even acknowledge anything that conflicts with their program; this is the reason that, year after year, millions of people could show up for the big anti-abortion protest in DC and it was simply never shown on TV, never reported or only reported in a tiny paragraph on the same page with traffic problems, and even then underestimated by a factor of about 10. Most people didn't even know about it, and this makes people who share that position feel isolated, unsupported and freakish. No matter how brave people are, most of them don't like to feel that they out there completely by themselves, taking a position that is unpopular with their "betters" in the academy and government.

So the technique of suppressing news that conflicts with the vision they want to project is extremely effective, and I think we're going to have to be very vocal indeed if we want them to be unable to ignore us.
