The first attack happened around 8:25 p.m. Saturday when a man was attacked after parking his motor scooter near the Northwestern University campus in Streeterville.
The man had parked on the 300 block of East Chicago Avenue across the street from Wieboldt Hall when a group of 15 to 20 men, all approximately 16 to 20 years old and black, approached him, according to an alert from the university.
One of them threw a baseball at the victim’s face and knocked him to the ground, the alert said. Several others from the group punched and hit him several times. The victim tried to protect himself and fought back.

And to top it off I bet the 20 loser thugs used their free “freedom phones” bought by tax monies for the “less fortunate”. I think everyone should have the right to carry a gatling gun in some areas.

I might catch some flak for saying this, but what they really need are good jobs. A young man who has just put in eight hours of work in a mill or factory doesn't have much energy to go roaming the streets.
Sure, we need to tighten the penalties for criminal behavior. But we also need to bring basic manufacturing back to the USA.
Many years ago, I was returning from a hike. When I got to my car, which was still miles from the nearest paved road, there were 8 guys sitting on it, drinking whiskey. They got off and started to surround me.
All I had was a 6 shot 22, which I pulled. Happily, none of them said, “8-6=2, we can take him!” In fact, I was able to get in my car and drive off without a shot fired.
Of course, those 8 were not Amish, so it might go down differently now.

They are waiting for someone to hurt one of these misunderstood children so that the black community can take to the street and be outraged by the unfairness of it all.
Flash mobs are a growing phenomenon. I’ll bet these punks have iPhones and internet access so they can come together for these events.
If the Arab Spring creeps can do it, then so can Chicago punks.
Yes, I’ll venture to guess that the next round of inner city riots will be a lot better planned, a lot more mobile, and a lot harder to deal with. Especially since they will probably be listening in on the police frequencies.
