Margaret Thatcher's political career has been one of the most remarkable of modern times. Born in October 1925 at Grantham, a small market town in eastern England, she rose to become the first (and for two decades the only) woman to lead a major Western democracy. She won three successive General Elections and served as British Prime Minister for more than eleven years (1979-90), a record unmatched in the twentieth century.

Strong, successful leaders, who do what must be done, are not loved by everyone.
The Left fears Sarah Palin will do what she says needs to be done.
If a woman says you "must NOT have this" or "you MUST spend that," or "why aren't you doing this" or "you could be working harder," it is harder to say they are mean. They sound more like they're being honest and doing it for your own good.
So far the Left has fallen short trying to find the poison-tipped arrow to kill Palin's potential presidential run.
It's interesting to see this "women hate Palin" play out today on Rush.
I challenge women to put up or shut up.
Stop sounding like junior high bitches and name reasons grown-ups can take seriously -- otherwise go get your nails done and leave this election to people who want to save the country. It's too important. If you can't think of your children and grandchildren PLEASE go watch OWN, where you can play at "caring." People with inherited wealth, like the Kennedys, Roosevelts, Rockefellers, Bushes, Mitt Romney, etc. do not know this. Who is the closest to Maggie and Ronaldus Magnus today? Probably Sarah Palin.
