In Staten Island, a school gone wild: 12-year-old muggers shock community
NY Post ^ | June 11, 2011 | SUSAN EDELMAN

On March 15, Elis Misaud, the delivery guy for Frank’s Pizzeria, carried two boxes with cheese pies and two liters of soda to the front entrance of Berta Dreyfus Intermediate School 49. Teachers had ordered the refreshments for an after-school tutoring program. The snacks never arrived.

It was 4 p.m., broad daylight, when they pounced. Two girls and five boys, aged 11 to 14, surrounded Misaud and pummeled his face with fists.

“They punched me on my head, grabbed the pizza and soda, and ran,” said Misaud, 21.

The stunned Misaud said he went inside to the report the mugging, and left. The school never paid the $21.50 tab. And his attackers didn’t bother to hide. They sat under a tree on school grounds, munching on their booty.

The brazen robbery by baby-faced bandits has touched off a war on Staten Island, where neighbors and business owners are demanding that the city Department of Education do something about the fight-plagued school — one of the most dangerous in the city.

the fight-plagued school — one of the most dangerous in the city.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

There are schools in this nation that are so horrific it would be better for a child to **never** attend. Even if the child were to be illiterate and innumerate it would be better to **never** attend! Illiteracy and innumeracy can be fixed. The social, emotion, and especially spiritual injury to these children are too often irreparable.

Also...Please remember that **every** ( that means **all**) government owned and run school in this nation is GODLESS! Everything is taught within the perspective of a godless worldview. Children must learn to think and reason godless merely to cooperate in the classroom. It would be better for a child to be illiterate and innumerate than to be indoctrinated into thinking and reasoning godlessly.

So?....Why are we surprised that we have a Lord of the Flies culture developing? Soon we all will be living Mad Max compounds. Some of us live in Mad Max compounds now.

“For a start, community leaders have one question: How did things get so bad in New York City that middle schoolers are now muggers?”

There are two violent cultures clashing here and one is the “religion of peace” and I believe it starts before middle school.

“Why should the school do anything other than expel them; they obviously are not civilized enough to behave well in school.

By law, the schools have to try to educate them somewhere, short of paying for one on one tutoring, I don't see how they can do it. One school for each child, what a concept and I don't know why the teachers union hasn't suggested it yet.

We need school vouchers to break the government school monopoly. We need mass firings of “teachers” and “administrators”.

We need (as you say) to end the welfare baby-boom subsidy.

And for the short-term: We need educational camps, out in the woods, surrounded with barbed wire and filled with a daily regimen that includes not only enforced study but enforced hard work wherein the little hottentots earn points for parental visits. No points, no parents. (Which in the long run will help them earn more points, I’m sure, since the problem is primarily the parents.)

Just a taste of social disfunction to come.

Wait until the power goes out, and the ATMs, markets and gas stations are empty.

"Welcome to post-Christian America. Surely wouldn’t want to post 10 commandments on the school’s wall."

Sixty years ago, one of the first things I learned to read was the golden rule.

Wooden rulers were handed out to my class and on one side it said, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and on the other side it said, "Drink Coca-Cola".

I can still remember the new, varnish smell of those rulers.

The free school breakfast and lunch program must be expanded to include dinner if we expect to have any influence over these hungry children.
The schools will also need a larger union staff to support the additional need.

Solution: Long ago, the NYPD had a squad that was internally called the “assassination squad” but was actually called the stake out squad. On weekend evenings, officers would secret themselves in a liquor store and when some armed dirt bags came in to rob it, they would announce their presence and then promptly dispatch the lowlifes with a blast or two of 12 gauge oo buck. Worked well till one guy actually lived. While on the stand he was asked by the PD if the officers had announced they were under arrest before the shooting began. Guy said, I don’t know but I do know that one guy said “april fool MF and blew his S..t away”.

Similarly now, what the police need to do is set up phony pizza deliveriers while covering the plain clothes officer. When the vandals show up, it is assault on a police officer and open up. Then yell out, halt. Usually no one can recall when the halt was said and the firing began. A few dozen like incidents and the muggings stop IMO but if not, it is not the same group.

Maybe the problem is with the law(or its interpretation) that requires criminals to be ‘educated’ at public expense.

... community leaders have one question: How did things get so bad in New York City that middle schoolers are now muggers?

The paper messed up.

Through two entire pages they diligently avoided mentioning the race of the perps but then some numbskull slipped in a picture of two of them coming out of court. It was no surprise they were the usual feral blacks. It has now gotten to the stage where it is a major shock if they aren't black.

This entire episode once again highlights the triumph of LBJ's Great Society and Liberalism in control in America. Almost an entire generation of blacks have been destroyed and their communities living in fear and ruin.

And to think... it has cost we taxpayers many trillions of Dollars to get us there to boot - and the black community still votes for their slave masters at a 95% rate.

This state of affairs is beyond tragic.

***Let their parents deal with them in the meantime. ***

Have you ever heard the poem “Kentucky Larn’in”? It is about little black boy who steals a watermellon and shames his mammy so bad she refuses to give him a piece when she cuts it up.

She finds it is not ripe! and then berates her boy for stealing a green watermellon.

We often blame the parents of these ferral children for their behavior, but we must realize that these kids are in the charge of public schools for most of their waking hours every week. The schools claim they “socialize” children and that homeschool kids are missing the grand socialization they recieve at public school.

I am quite aware of this as undoing the misbehavior and amorality learned in school while the boys were at home interacting with us was a challenge. We had them in our charge very few hours before bed time and the rest of the time was spent sleeping and in the presence of socialists at the local schools.

We spent our time reinforcing our morals and values as best we could and it did help rescue our sons from total social meltdown led by the social engineers at their public schools. The inner city kids have no one struggling to undo the damage of social engineering at home because the parents don’t know any better.

The failed multicultural idea that “blacks have their own culture” and that the culture is without “white bread” morality, informed judgement and self control, is even more detrimental to these kids that is their pitiful parents. The public schools’ multicultural ideology that tolerance is without discrimination of right and wrong behavior and attitudes is creating the monsters we see acting out in herds today.

These children need to get out from under the socialists in “education” or they will only get worse. I have given up on reforming public schools. They need to be replaced with vouchers.
