Weiner Is Thinking About Resigning
By John Hudson 08:59 AM ET
Rep. Anthony Weiner may be worn out. According to the New York Daily News, the embattled congressman is considering resigning following the latest batch of beefcake photos and calls for his resignation from the Democratic leadership. "A source close to the congressman told the Daily News that he had been adamant about keeping his seat - even amid daily new revelations of his reckless sexting," Alison Gendar reports. "But the unrelenting media coverage, the demands from his party's leaders that he step down and the appearance of more humiliating photos made Weiner realize he may not be able to bull his way through the crisis after all, the source said." Additionally, Wiener's office released a statement to Politico saying "Congressman Weiner takes the views of his colleagues very seriously and has determined that he needs this time to get healthy and make the best decision possible for himself, his family and his constituents.
At this point, the bigwigs calling for his departure include House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chairman Steve Israel.
But two of his closest allies have not yet urged him to step down: his wife Huma Abedin and Chuck Schumer:

Shrinkage! It's just shrinkage!
Weiner probably imagines himself as Schumer’s natural heir. He’s hanging on because he wants that senate seat. Those things are “for life” in NY.
“stick it out?”
rear it’s ugly head?
His district is going to be “redistricted” into oblivion and there’s buzz that the Albany Democrats are as interested as anyone in casting Weiner adrift. I can’t imagine any of the party leaders want the Internet Flasher appearing regularly on television.
Personally, I’d rather have the obnoxious Democrat Party poster boy persist in his current position, dominating the headlines and twisting in the wind.
That was a good idea. I called my (useless) Congressman. Then I called the offices of Mike Pence, Marsha Blackburn and Michele Bachmann as well.

If you tweet your meat, you must lose your seat.
ROFL - POST OF THE DAY!!!!!
Oh, get a grip.
???
Why on earth would you not want Weiner to stay exactly where he is? Just on the face of it, if the rat leaders want him gone, I want him to stay.
Weiner is the perfect face of the Democrat Party. I hope he has the guts to hang tough against the political whores in his own party who only care about the reflection he makes on the party. The simple scum in his district who elected him and consistently re-elect him have spoken, and they want him to stay. If he was to resign it would be like kicking dirt in their faces. Besides, those scum would only replace him with an equally repugnant piece of garbage.
Hang tough, Weiner! Stand tall! DO NOT resign!
Weiner needs to get ahold of himself.
He needn't be in any rush -- that big fat pension of his is secured (his full congressional salary for the rest of his life).
It’s about time to resign.
Exactly! Stand Firm, Weiner! Don't Resign ... Rush Limbaugh
Headline: Dems Slam Door on Weiner.
In the beginning of this, I was wondering if the Republicans would be heavily criticizing Weiner. Generally, they chose not to get involved. Perhaps this was a pretty good idea. Had they started in on Weiner, the media would have gleefully counter attacked, making Republicans the target. As time went by, and more was revealed, it got to the point that the Democrats finally had to demand Weiner’s resignation.
Surely a union lobby somewhere can use another idiot?
Hey Weiner, buck up, the sun will eventually shine again, it can get better!
Hide your meat, go back and tweet

You know, I haven’t felt much sympathy for Congressman Weiner up until now. But think about the psychological devastation this must be causing him. A month ago, he was a rising star in the Party. Now, whether he quits or continues to tough it out, his reputation is destroyed forever. It’s a sad, pathetic situation, and it really makes me want to point and laugh and laugh.
Yep..with his expertise in lying and bluster..he would be a perfect fit for SEIU,ACORN or the AFL/CIO.
