TBN CENSORSHIP OF JACK VAN IMPE PRESENTS.... (Obama and Chrislam)
http://www.jvim.com/update/display.php?ITEM=11137 ^ | June 11th, 2011 | Jack Van Impe

Posted on 06/13/2011 7:45:31 PM PDT by TaraP

We have received numerous emails and telephone calls from our viewers who were upset when they tuned into TBN on Wednesday night expecting to see our program dealing with churches that have lost their way and four well known leaders that are promoting Chrislam – a uniting of Christianity with Islam. (You can view that program on our Web page by clicking the “TV Program” button on the menu.)

On Wednesday afternoon we received a call from Matt Crouch of TBN informing us that they would not run that program, despite having aired it Monday evening.

The reason he gave was that we specifically mentioned Rick Warren and Robert Schuller and that it is TBN’s policy that broadcasters are not allowed to rebuke other ministries.

This is a rather hypocritical statement in light of the fact that they have never said anything in the past when we have rebuked others such as Bishop Spong, Bishop Pike, and in the past few months Harold Camping and Rob Bell.

They also stated that they would not run any future program where we offered our DVD Reclaiming & Restoring Biblical Christianity as a premium for a donation to our ministry. A DVD that exposes false teachers and the heresies that they proclaim.

Beloved, I Will Not Be Silenced! I will not allow anyone to tell me what I can and cannot preach. When I see heretical teaching leading to apostasy, I will speak out. The Bible says “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” (II Timothy 3:16 emphasis mine). The Apostle Paul also gives instructions in Titus 1:9 – 11, 13 “Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers…Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake…Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith” (emphasis mine).

I immediately called our Media Agents and told them that I no longer wanted to air my program on Trinity Broadcasting Network; we will take the tremendous amount of money that we were spending there to obtain new stations that will allow us to continue to reach every square mile of America with the truths of the Bible without this network.

We will be sending a letter out to all of our Partners very soon that will go into more detail as well as sharing how after 23 years of building an audience in the same time spot; they were going to move us to Friday nights where the audience is 25% less – and they stated this was a mandatory move – no exceptions.

Is it for the consumption of Christian or Islamic audiences? If Muslims are listening at all, then we ought to be glad it has an audience among them even if it has to be filmed in front of a plain white wall. And if it’s for Christians, why make it harder to get the material to them?

This is the program that was blocked by TBN outlining the heresy of "Crislam" and false doctrine being promoted by Rick Warren.

I have great respect for Mr. Van Empe in that he cancled his contract rather than to allow his proclamation of the truth to be compromised. This program briefly touches upon the facts presented in the following book entitled:

"The Dark Side of the Purpose Driven Church"

It’s better than nothing if you’re housebound. If the technology had existed in Paul’s day he would have been happy to make videos as well as write letters. Some people say it’s “as good as church” which of course is hogwash. A church is not just its preacher preaching to people, it is its people meeting together!

I used to watch Jack Van Impe, and he seems like a decent guy. But after I heard him misquote the Bible, I was repulsed by him and consider him a false witness.

If the network execs at TBN have an issue with specific show content, they have every right to censor it. It is a private company.

"I don’t even like Rick Warren but I thought attacking him and Schuller for Chislam was pathetic. "

Yeah! If Jack Van Impe wants to pick a public fight with other Christians, he can take it outside. TBN is not obligated to give him a venue.

"There have been many over the years warning people about the Crouches and TBN."

The same people who warn about Sarah Palin. Not good people.

"I think next to get the boot will be John Haggee, someone is paying the Crouche’s off..."

That is a disgusting thing to say. You should be ashamed.

We are not to compromise and bow down to other gods and when the pastors try to merge these 2 belief systems together that is exactly what is happening. Our Jesus is not and never will be the same as the one spoken of in the quran and those that teach this are leading God’s people away from Him. Rick Warren may not think it’s wrong and many others may not think it’s wrong but i trust my God and not what men think. God said “No other god’s except Him” and that all I need to know.. all the pastors that are doing this will have a heavy price to pay and I thank God that Jack Van Impe called these people out, someone needed to and he did. thats all that I have to say on the subject.

“Pathetic”, so it’s alright with you to keep lying to people, so that they might end up in hell by not knowing the truth??
If the Lord truly did ‘send’ Rick and Schuller to ‘preach His Word’, what’s stopping them from preaching the unadulterated version via the Bible, and NOT their own?
How many times is the word ‘sin’ or ‘sin not’listed in the Bible (so that we’d know what God is calling us to do and why), but Schuller and Joel Osteen refuse to even mention this word because they don’t want to offend anyone?
Are ‘you’ aware of the ‘fact’ that every word we’ve ever spoken, and action ever done is being recorded, and we’ll have to answer for it?
I pray to God that Rick Warren, Schuller (before he lays down to leave this earth), and others consult and get it right with the Lord because I also believe that time ‘is’ running out for us all.

100% agree. Also the satanic versus. So islams holy man gets deceived and led by satan, while Christ resisted temptation. Whos the holy one? It is Christ not mad mo. Anyone who compromises their faith for peace with islam(which will never happen) is almost as bad as said enemy.

I agree with you on the evils of Islam. But if Rick Warren is really practicing “Chislam,” it will be apparent to those who witness him, and all anyone else need do is simply warn about how evil Chislam is. I am immediately skeptical whenever anyone makes an argument against another preacher, because it usually involves tortured “analysis” to demonstrate how the accused is guilty.

A case in point was when one preacher was arguing for the health benefits of avoiding pork (Olstein? Warren?) and was attacked for being a closet muslim.

To: null and void; Elendur

Yay for Elendur! I love it when someone has the cajones to defend the counter-Islam actions of Christianity.

If I may nit pick null and void:

You need to distinguish between the Papal Inquisition, the Spanish Inquisition, and local inquisitions.

Local inquisitions were an abuse of marginally Christianized kingdoms. Many kings came up with terribly un-Christian laws, such as the right to have sex first with any bride. When preachers opposed such repression, they were accused of heresy. In fact, charges of heresy simply the political tool by which any political opposition was oppressed. Methods used were absolutely barbaric, and made “inquisition” a rightfully terrifying word.

Eventually, Rome wised up to the gig, and, in one of the great innovations of the separation of Church and State, declared that the State did not have the authority to charge anyone with the crime of heresy, or “suspicion of heresy,” by which was meant any action through which heresy was inferred. Thus was established the Papal Inquisition, which continues to this day as the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, once led by Pope Benedict XVI.

The Papal Inquisition was a majestic leap forward in jurisprudence. Torture was banned: interrogation could not leave any lasting injuries, and “enhanced interrogation” could last no more than fifteen minutes, and could only be used once (thus further minimizing its usefulness in extracting false confessions).

The inquisition killed very few people. Most of those famous for being killed by the church were not, but were handed back to the state, for the inquisitions usurpment of ecclesiastical authority was tolerated because it did permit the State authority over crimes against the State, such as treason.

It’s the Spanish Inquisition to which null and void apparently refers. Rome permitted inquisitions only against those professing to be Christians. Muslim crypto-Christians presented a unique problem in Spain, for they threatened to pervert Christianity towards Islam. Recognizing this, and its own inexpertise at dealing with Islam, Rome permitted Spain its own local inquisition, bound by the same rules as all papal inquisitions.

The Spanish Inquisition’s great notoriety came from its treatment of the Jews. Jews were NOT subject to the inquisition, but the Spanish bumpkins feared the Jews as much as the Muslims simply because they were not Christian. When the inquisition refused to go after Jews, the locals took matters into their own hands. Rather than prosecute those who did so, Spain simply deemed itself too dangerous for Jews, and expelled them. The great suffering which accompanied the expulsion was blamed on the Inquisition.

When we first started watching JVI’s TV program, I was put off by Rexella’s hair and makeup, and I didn’t even realize how long they’ve been married — since the 1950’s. I also didn’t realize what a total sweetheart she is; that took awhile to dawn on me. We’ve met her brother, who also travels to various churches around the US teaching a very good course about end-time prophecy, and he is a very mellow person and very personable. He has published under his own name, Robert Shelton (or Sheldon). He did a series in the church we were attending about 3-4 years ago, so we really got a sense of the “flavor” of Rexella’s family of origin. JVI has always been fiery, and for good reason (temperament and his topic), and though/because the couple are childless, they have a very close and genuine relationship that may be off-putting when you first tune in to their program, but over time you realize how genuine they are. Re: Schuller, I’ve always had mixed feelings about him/his preaching, and re: Rick Warren, even my elderly dad with some senility, upon reading his Purpose-Driven Life, had the same exact take on it as one of our grown sons (who’s pretty knowledgeable in scriptural things), and that is that there is something heretical in his teaching. I can’t recall at the moment what they both zeroed in on, but my elderly dad had lived most of his adult life (after growing up in a Christian home) as though he were an unbeliever and then turned to walk with the Lord late in life — so, given his bit of senility and his past history, I was surprised that he had the same take on Warren’s book as his grandson, who is such a different type of person. My husband felt the same way, and I can’t remember whether I ever finished the book. I think that TBN is being retributive, and we’ll probably send them a letter to that effect and promise more support to JVI in the future as a counter to their behavior. Maybe others ought to consider that approach to “slapping” TBN right back for their misbehavior in rescheduling JVI to Friday nights. That was just plain nasty, and they’re just proving JVI’s point: it’s important to defy heresy no matter where it arises.

I’m sure he was on the air in Michigan when I was attending college there in the 60s.
