Blood in our streets. I saw people on the ground, bleeding. Shattered glass everywhere. Police cars set alight. Major bridges are now closed, preventing public access into the downtown core. Transit is plugged up, there’s no way out. More police and fire crews are arriving, from the suburbs, but again, it seems too late. And as I write this, the sun has just set. Looks like the Vancouver police were totally unprepared. What a contrast with the Blackhawks victory parade last year. It was the best sports celebration I’ve ever seen.
Timely application of Rule 308 to a few of the aggressively lawless would have caused the crowds to melt away.
Even losing 3 - 0 with 5 minutes to go the Canucks took a cheap shot at the Bruins leading to a penalty.
The fans in Vancouver are only taking point from their team!

We hear that all of the riots, gang shootings, the burning and looting of Oakland is all due to "white suppression", "racism", ect... I've been to Vancouver and didn't see any minorities. They were all lily white especially near the arena.
I watched the Hawks / Canucks series and all of the fans I saw were white.
So yes, next time a minority group riots and the liberals claim it's due to "evil white suppression", I will say, well how come it was all whites burning down Vancouver and white on white crime????
When they learn to shoot rioters and looters down in their tracks this sh** will stop. That goes for so called “flash mobs” in the USA also.
BAM!!! Yes that was the best parade!!! I don't remember any riots in Chicago last year. I set off a few fireworks which probably made the Pakistani neighbors feel right at home, but other than that everything was peaceful.
Yet, Drudge bashes Chicago daily on his website. Downtown is fine. West side is cleaned up. It is the south side on the lake front you want to avoid.

On the positive side, we are told 10,000 volunteers are pledging to go down town and help clear up the mess. A gentleman, very astute in things to do with computers, has put up a massive website. This website contains identifiable pictures of the psycos and appeals for information as to names.
The fools of rotters also had been posting themselves on their face book. Then sobering up they were deleting their mayhem. This public spirited citizen found a way to circumvent them. One wonders if there will be any retribution though.
Sadly, the economy is in the tank if not a depression.

Yeah, I agree with you I was at the parade for the Sox. Too bad my camera was awful!!! I still have some of the confetti saved.
That month of October 2005 will be the best month of my life. Nothing could beat that. I enjoyed the Stanley Cup, that was fun, but nothing was better than the World Series!
I never got to touch the Cup but we get to keep our trophy and I got to touch our World Series Trophy.
Now we need to get our S$^% together and beat the Twins!!!
Police made 100 arrests. 9 police officers injured. Two to hospital, one hit with a brick in the head. Hopefully the officers will completely recover.
