In what the State Department is calling an “historic step” the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva Friday passed a resolution supporting equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation.
The resolution, introduced by South Africa, is the first-ever U.N. resolution on the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered persons.
It passed with 23 votes in favor, 19 opposed and three abstentions, amidst strong criticism of South Africa by some African nations.
Suzanne Nossel, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Organizations, tells CNN
“It really is a key part in setting a new norm that gay rights are human rights and that that has to be accepted globally.”
“It talks about the violence and discrimination that people of LGBT persuasion experience around the world,” she says, “and that those issues...need to be taken seriously. It calls for reporting on what’s going on, where people are being discriminated against, the violence that is taking place and it really puts the issue squarely on the U.N.'s agenda going forward.”
Divided opinion continues among some countries about whether the time has come to take up gay rights in the U.N. forum, Nossel says, “so this resolution is really significant as far as gaining widespread support for doing just that.”
The State Department lobbied intensively for the resolution and Nossel says the U.S. was pleased to see African leadership, from South Africa in particular, as well as strong support from South America, Colombia and Brazil.

US out of the UN, UN off US soil!
Just thinking out loud...what rights does this give they didn’t already have? LOL, I think this is quite the bill of goods since it will be govts who will be doing the giving & taking. Anyway, no one should be at all surprised by this. It just one more step in the march toward dividing light and dark. The time is coming when you’ll HAVE to chose and there will be no fence sitting.
How come we`re not included in that UN resolution?
Horses have equal equine marriage rights too, y`know!

Isn’t the members of the UN human rights council a bunch of of 3rd world dictators? Would they push for this kind of affirmative action in their home countries? Hell no, this is nothing more than another assault on our country by dictators who take our money.
A real president would tell the UN that they have outlived their usefullness and the money will stop. Watch them implode.
Who cares about the UN and its resolutions? Who is going to enforce it? North Korea and Iran are perfect examples of how meaningless resolutions are.
So, the State Department is going to be the defining voice of what homosexual policy will be, and what is good policy and what is not?
I think the devilish detail here would be to ask them exactly what "equal rights" means in their legislation.
Another question might be to ask: "What exactly will be the ramifications if the American citizenry does not agree with their definition of what constitutes "equal rights" for homosexuals?"

This resolution will, in the minds of our government officials, take precedence over any and all domestic laws (including the US Constitution).

“Equal rights” are not the only thing that needs clarification. I saw no clear definition of “sexual orientation” in the article. Does this mean pedophilia, bestiality, and necrophilia are acceptable to the UN?
There is nothing historic in this event of pandering to the perverts and the deranged. Homosexuals of Ancient Rome and Greece, bought, sold, and used young boys for whatever purpose they desired. This “historic” move is simply degeneracy at a “historic” rate.

Make no mistake, there are leaders in power (See Obuttface) that seek to devalue/destroy US sovereignty. The UN empire seeks world domination just as the British empire once ruled most of the world. We fought a revolution with the Brits and now, Obuttface, is going to lead us back to our historical subservience to another world empire.
Well, we know all of those things are likely just fine with the UN, especially pedophila if the experience in Africa is indicative.
After all, it is a well known fact that all values are completely relative to whatever culture has those values, and none can be deemed better or worse than any other.
Except, of course, if your values say that you don’t condone pedophilia and want to legislate against it. Then your value system is bad and must be suppressed.

I am sure this is for western world consumption only. What are they going to do with the homos all through the Islamic world?
And if they are busy passing out rights and liberties for the world, why do they not free the women in the islamic world and equate their rights to mans rights?
