Bachmann: Schools should teach intelligent design New Orleans, Louisiana (CNN) Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann explained her skepticism of evolution on Friday and said students should be taught the theory of intelligent design. Bachmann, a congresswoman from Minnesota, also proposed a major overhaul of the nations education system and said state administrators should be able to decide how they spend money allocated to them by the federal government. "I support intelligent design," Bachmann told reporters in New Orleans following her speech to the Republican Leadership Conference. "What I support is putting all science on the table and then letting students decide. I don't think it's a good idea for government to come down on one side of scientific issue or another, when there is reasonable doubt on both sides."

Saying ID can be applied to everything is much different from saying it EXPLAINS everything. Creationists claim God created everything but they make no claim that explains HOW he did it. “Everything” includes the HOW and ID proponants make no pretense of knowing the how. You are in way over your head.
All of the competing Big Bang theories assert that the natural laws of physics don't apply in the singularity which by definition makes it supernatural. Again, you are in way over your head.
Since no transitional life forms have ever been identified, it is entirely reasonable to conclude they don’t and never existed. Therefore, evolution is based entirely on speculation. That isnot science.
You can make that argument go on forever by simply getting more and more granulare with what's "transitional". What's your "entirely reasonable" conclusion for the fossil evidence that we have found so far?
If you know of a real transitional lifeform, you would be a hero to evolutionists.
If you had a better explanation you'd be a hero to the creationists.
If you had a better explanation you'd be a hero to the creationists.
Semantics. It is a lower case god in search of a gap.
You asked how it was a god of the gaps argument - and I explained it to you.
You are unable to respond intelligently.
You are way out of your depths and argue like a spastic.
‘It applies to everything is DIFFERENT from saying it EXPLAINS everything’ - sure. You have no explanation other than a lower case god who didn’t make a very good reality.
My God is greater.
He is a competent designer.
ID posits an incompetent designer.
It isn’t science - it is a old and foolish theology - that what science (supposedly) cannot explain of the natural world - there we can see the power of “the designer”.
Every bit of scientific progress and knowledge has been gained from supposing that natural forces are responsible for natural phenomena.
Supposing that supernatural forces are responsible for natural phenomena is an intellectual dead end that has never lead anywhere or produced anything of any value.
