I've read and re-read the article to trying to fathom why those supposedly in the vanguard against acts of depravity, abomination, pedophilia, other ungodly acts, would fall to the wayside in such a god-awful sheepish whimper, a pusilanimous emasculated sellout en masse, only to shake my head in disbelief and horror.

Whatever happened to honor, duty, principle, truth, justice....

Each and every day it gets clearer and clearer how very screwed we are.

I think this is going to fail. The GOP are dragging it out and there is nothing to gain. It isn’t like even in NY that being anti gay marriage loses votes nor being pro gay marriage win elections. If I were the GOP Senators I’d think about this because I’d be asking myself why do I place myself at risk over something that is unlikely to help me politically even in NY. The die hard homosympathetic vote is locked up tighter than the minority vote. If I were the GOP I’d use this issue to beat up Cuomo and help court minority groups especially black groups who are very much up in arms on this issue. The NY GOP needs to grow a pair.

Should anything really horrible ever happen to New York, Illinois, or California... it will never be horrible enough! And please don’t give me that “fellow American BS”.

The RINO will always stab the conservative in the back, and the DemoRat will always stab everyone, starting with the most wholesome, in the back.

The only hope is to Galt 'em and leave 'em with only each other to stab in the back.

I’ve been following it closely. I’ve seen a huge outpouring of opposition from the minority community in NY.

Why are these Republicans asking Cuomo for protections for religious groups? Cuomo doesn’t have the authority to dictate what religious groups can or cannot do. Religious groups get their protection from the Constitution, not Andrew Cuomo.

WHERE ARE THE REPUBLICANS ?

Consider this platform, that of the Conservative Party - USA in the State of New York:

http://www.conservativepartyusa.org/conservativepartyny/?page_id=331

Is that not a platform that is closer to what you believe than the CONTINUAL MORAL COMPROMISE that Republicans offer ?

I ask, why do we need the Republican party if it will not stand up for conservative values ?

You remind of something I saw years ago, on Moonbattery's long ago lost son, Phil Donahue, with his daily parade of hardcore left-wing kooks, rapscallions and nee'er do wells. He had some gay activist on that would preface each questiion posed to the audience with are you gay or non-gay?

I've always fantasized about being part of the audience that day to reply, are you an abomination or a non-abomination?

“I am a proponent of marriage equality, and I’m working very hard to make that a reality in New York,” Mr. Cuomo told reporters on Friday as lawmakers prepared to go home for the weekend. “I am also a proponent of religious freedom, and separation of church and state, so these are both very important principles. I don’t see one in competition with the other.”

Cuomo is a heretic and blasphemer, plus, he is abrogating his responsibility to protect the people he governs.

Male and female genitalia are made for union. Male/male or female/female can only achieve union by means of deviant, unnatural, and risky behavior to both physical and mental health of the perverts in addition to the general population at large.

Cuomo and those of his ilk have seriously disordered minds to legislate that homosexual behavior is "normal and acceptable." Anything that puts the general population at risk is NOT normal and acceptable!

Politicians have no say over marrige. Marrige is a Holy Estate created by God. Let them pass any damned law they want, but people of Faith should simply shut out the state in the matter of marrige.

That's a very compelling argument. I'm not aware of what is the goverment's right, power to regulate, sanction marriages except for collecting license fees, to determine, what demographic group may or may not be eligible. Orthodox Jewry requires the acquisition of a rabbinical document validating the marriage based on religious law, and must also seek a separate document in the case of divorce.Exactly what is the power invested in state goverment that allows it to determine marriage partner eligibility?

"The road to hell is paved with 'religious exemptions.'"

Sign held by orthodox Jewish protester. He is so right.

If you can 'exempt,' you can 'un-exempt.'
